Basically what it says on the tin. I made a few changes, largely remove video scaling, turning the blood right up and turning off the intro movies, but the game stays at the default settings. As far as I can tell, the file is formatted correctly (all I did was change the relevant numbers) and it definately saved properly and in the correct place, so in rather stumped here. I'm using Windows 7 64 bit. Any help would be swell.

Cheers guys.

Hesusio: it definately saved properly and in the correct place ... I'm using Windows 7 64 bit.
Just to clarify you are editing the VirtualStore version of the file, not the one in Program Files (x86)? You can get to the VirtualStore version by entering the following line in the Start Menu search box or any folder's address bar:

%LOCALAPPDATA%\VirtualStore

Dig down until you find the game's folder there (the folder structure reflects wherever you installed it to) and then make the changes to the file there.

Note that this same method applies to all other GOG releases as well, except for those that have a UAC prompt every time you play (e.g. Moto Racer) or are only a few years old (e.g. Two Worlds, which puts its files in My Documents).

I imagine that'll fix it. These things are almost always something simple that I miss due to my own ignorance. Thanks mate, I'll get right on it.
