I have tested it extensively - I need to be connected to internet to play. If there is no connection the games will not start at all. I am using gog versions of the games without any modifications. I purchased the games several weeks ago.

Do you hapen to know how to fix it? or is it normal?

Even stranger - again tested it - on slower wifi connection the games take longer to start and it also takes lonegr to load saved games???

Btw, I am playing on MSI laptop with Win 7 home premium 64 bit.

No. I don use galaxy. i did not even install it.
funny thing - tested extensively too - it does run without internet connection but requires several minutes to start...and then all smoth...well, i guess i will have to live / play with it.

Did you try to contact GOG about it? Cause... this is really strange. o.O

I've had this happen with other GOG games for years. G2 works fine for me but I get this with G1 and G3. I'm also using a laptop. If you start the game twice it loads up in a few seconds. Sometimes I can do this and quickly kill the first instance of the game with task manager before the second one has a chance to load.

Yeap - I just discovered it - I also need to start the game twice but the game actually only loads once - in task manager there is gthic 32 with * and the second time there appears without thhe * and it is ok. well - it is somethig I will have to get used to - it does not een bother me anymore as the game runs smoothly.

I asked aroud and among my G-playing friends some suffer fro it as well, even those who lay on their PC not laptops.
