Hey all,
When trying to load my latest savegame, the game quits and I'm getting the following error message:
B: VFILE: Err: -2: Can't find file:
_WORK[backslash]DATA[backslash]SOUND[backslash]ITMW_2H_ORCMACE_01.MRM Code: 255

There isn't a "SOUND" folder in my _WORK[backslash]DATA directory... Any ideas? Maybe I should try reinstalling the game?
Ps.: if I do manage to load an older savegame, the game most often crashes in a few mintutes.

Please send us a message via the Support section and we'll send you the file. You'll have to create the folder yourself. We will fix this issue in a new installer soon.

Would you please post here when the new installer is done and ready for download?

WTF??? Please, someone, tell me before I put in more hours into my game, if this issue is a universal bug and will strike me soon too. So far, I've had a couple of crashes, but it hasn't been horrible. Does this strike at a certain point in the game??? Or is only on certain systems???
I've already got a LOT of hours into this game, so if it would be better to wait for this update then I wll .
try to disable the sound (gothic.ini), load the game, save it, enamble the sound and load the saved game.

OldFatGuy, I think you can keep playing. If the bug hits, just ask for the file (or get the updated installer), fix the installation, and reload the savegame. You shouldn't worry, just keep playing and you'll be fine.
By the way, this particular one seems to hit when you meet Orcs, or when you use Orc Maces, or something. I'm guessing from the filename. ;-)
GOG people: Any news on this?
Hey all,
Sorry, haven't visited the forums in the last few days. Peter from support kindly e-mailed me the file that was missing. I put the file in the appropriate place, the saved game loads fine now and no crashes so far!
Cheers,
Vorax
They should put the file in the Downloads For The Game section. Seems like many of us might need it.
I just got an email from support saying that the installer has been updated.
I can't redownload it now... if anyone wants to do that and confirm if it's been fixed, feel free to do so. ;-)

Can someone tell me what to do with this new installer? Do I uninstall my game, download the new installer, and re-install it? What about my saved games? Man, I've got lots of hours into this already, hate to lose it, but if the new installer makes bugs disappear, I can restart again.

I think you can just install it over the old installation, but YMMV. Regardless of what you do, I'm pretty sure that you can backup your savegames before doing anything.
I realised I never got back to this topic. With the updated installer, the game loads fine.
