I was at the Mine area and met Baloro and he offered me a weapon that was suppose to kill anything if I got him a bunch of stuff (2 apples, 4 loaves of bread, 5 beer, etc.).
However, after talking to him I went inside the Hut where he was standing and took the stuff out of the chests, and when I came back out he was gone.
Well, I went back to go down the ladder and when I got to the bottom there was Baloro dead at the bottom.
I took his stuff (he had a fair share of stuff on him), and his weapon was a Mace type weapon.
So, did I mess up by having him die or did I make out by getting the stuff he had on his person?
Obviously I will never be able to fulfill the Quest Journal entry now he is dead, but maybe it was not worth it and I made out better anyway.
Does anyone have any tips on this issue?
Thanks

The only thing you get from him if you agree to the deal is experience points, sort of like real life. Learn a hard lesson, it gives you experience.
I really love how people encounter tons of different outcomes in this game, even if some sever quest lines. Still It makes for huge replay value.
Wow, that is it? How many XP do you receive?
I think maybe I got the better of the deal with all the items I received, especially the weapon that will help out int he early stages.
Unless of course you get tons of XP that is...

My memory ain't what it used to be, so I could be wrong, but I wanna say 100. Not sure if that was it or not though. It certainly wasn't a great big huge amount.
If I remember at the time, sort of justifying it to myself, I figured some grapes, cheese, beer, and whatever it all was just wasn't really valued at that much, so I thought to myself it was sort of like "buying" 100 XP for a few items.
I guess if you're feeling frisky, you could accept the deal, get the 100 XP, then beat the crap out of him and take the stuff back so you get both.
