Oh yes, but as the man above me said, they already took your money, so... What sucks is that their games never work on Win7 even if they claim they do on the respective product pages.

They don't get the source code to the games. Plus, GOG is a small team, and sometimes the problems are on your end, not GOG's.

You're welcome not to buy these games, but keep all this in mind.

I ALMOST bought this but thought id check the forum first, as i use my laptop as a gog machine a lot of the time as its normally rather awesome for gog games

but alas when the game has unresolved issues after a year and it looks like its STILL an issue ill have to pass with this title (Could they at least make a note on the store page that it has major issues especially on Nvidia graphics hardware)

Given my laptop has a Nvidia 8200m its a no go for me, sure I could play it on my Dekstop with a HD4870 but from what I understand there's still issues for all anyways.

I don't get your problem, guys. The game works in software mode on Nvidia cards. It might not be as pretty, but it works. And the visual difference is almost negligible.

Therefore I don't see this product as broken. Bugged - yes, but not broken.

Yes, it works in software mode, but it sounds like shit. So, tell me would you play through a game where you couldn't understand wtf was being said through every spoken bit of dialogue?

I'm sorry to hear that. I have an Nvidia card and somehow it works for me without any sound problems, so I assumed it worked for everyone.

Nps Lots of people have the same issues. I'll most likely build another rig just to play these good old games. :)

Since this problem was first raised in 2009, and we're about to turn the clock to 2014 in a few weeks, is it safe to assume that Gorky 17 will never work properly for Windows 7 (and now 8)? I bought the game awhile ago on GoG (pretty much the reason I joined GoG in the first place!) and have been waiting for a fix ever since. Is there ever an official proclamation that attempts to fix a game are officially abandoned, or is there still hope?

It would be super nice to know if this game is still plausible to see fixed up for newer systems or if it's just going to be relegated to XP/Vista for the rest of the games lifespan.

Bought it right now on steam and it works on win 8.1_64bit with AMD HD7950 the menu screen doesn't go away during intro video but I can live with that.
