VaultDuke: Love the blunt honesty in the latest Steam patch notes. I'm also anxiously waiting for the latest patch to hit gog, though i'm not one to complain just yet. gog doesn't pack patches on weekends, so i don't expect it to hit before wednesday anyway.
The improvements sound very promising, keep it up.
Dwelling: Thanks for the info, mate!
Best regards
You are welcome, though please keep in mind that this was just my educated guess. Gog does their own installer thing, and last i heard this still requires manual involvement by someone here at gog. Based on that info, and from past experiences, i can see, why patches usually take a few days before they materialize on the players' end after developers have sent in their data. In my humble observations, while many developers seem to try to squeeze in their patches just before the weekend on steam, i never saw these then hit gog on either saturday or sunday, though i can only speak for the few games i have observed.
Goliath also has worse reviews on gog than they have on steam, i can also see myself extrapolating download numbers on gog based on that, compared to steam. in some cases developers have dropped support for the gog version at some point, or at least (due to lower user numbers and slower patching, combined with their own fast patch speed like here), didn't send in every patch to gog, but rather only every other or third one. So far (and it's wednesday) we don't know if the last patch was sent to gog.
