Is there any killing or gore in the game?

I let my 6yo play platformers so he's getting more savvy with controllers. He loves animals and this looks like it will be a good fit for him, but we want to stay away from anything with violence.

The game's PEGI rating is 12 according to the game page, for what it's worth.

Ghost of a Tale relies mostly on stealth and exploration. There is almost no combat. From time to time you throw a bottle at a rat guard's head to leave him unconscious, or kill a giant spider with an explosive pineapple, but that's the most violent thing you'll do. If the guards catch you and you don't manage to escape they will attack you with a poleaxe and might kill you (the attack/death animation is not gory though).

The game depicts some mature topics (such as death). It can also get scary for a child that young in certain sections.

It's very read-intensive, as there's no voice acting but dialogue unlocks quests. It's also not a platformer but action/RPG. Finding your way around the map takes some time as most of the time there are no objective markers (it's not just going forward).
