byadiscool: This didn't work for me. I assume the batch file is the script?
It's pretty simple, with your Galaxy client SHUTTED DOWN you download the windows.zip file in that page (assuming your using a windows PC) and unpack it over your %localappdata%\GOG.com\Galaxy\plugins\installed\steam_ca27391f-2675-49b1-92c0-896d43afa4f8 folder (make sure you delete everything inside that folder before).

It works absolutely fine.

I just tried the 1.0.5 solution as well and it works like a charm even the Steam update in the library took some time. But that was mainly because of the library size.
Thank you for providing this solution even I had preferred when GOG support had fixed this.

p0k314NET: Aren't you wasting your time on this pathetic show? Do you really want to fight the incompetence of the programmers and the stupidity of the management? Isn't it better to just use solutions that just work?
If there was a solution that "just worked", it would've been used by now. It's a feature on Galaxy I'd expect to work, otherwise, what is the point of putting it there at all?
Dear all,

I was a REAL holdout. Despite literal years of things not working correctly on GOG Galaxy, I kept on using it, downloading fixes from plug-ins from Github forums and all kinds of stupid shit wasting time that I should have been spent, you know, PLAYING VIDEO GAMES. Forget it. GOG Galaxy is done as a Game's Library Manager. It will hang on as the GOG storefront, but they have not fixed any of this for a LONG TIME despite lots of other updates, so it must a legal issue.... IN ANY EVENT, I finally just downloaded playnite. That was 20 minutes ago. It immediately found ALL the games on my hard drives. 5 minutes later I had entered my log-ins for all 7 of the main stores. As we speak, it is importing games and downloading metadata/graphics to display them all nicely. Yea, like I said, 20 minutes. I am ashamed to say that I easily wasted 20 hours trying OVER and OVER again to get galaxy working and keep galaxy working. I am done. No more. Life is too short. Everyone, spread the news, buy a turkey for tiny Tim's family, re-post this in every forum about how galaxy doesn't work: JUST DOWNLOAD PLAYNITE!

Have fun gaming and not fooling around on GitHub :-)

I gotta admit that I do use Galaxy quite a bit for my GOG games. But I have made a similar choice. Just picked a different poison, choosing LaunchBox instead. I hope with time Galaxy will get to be more stable so it can actually work as a proper launcher. But it really isn't there yet.

UPDATE: There are a couple annoying things about playnite (for example duplicate copies from different stores show up as separate entries), but most of them are fixed by plug-ins. How about Launchbox?

I find Launchbox to be a lot less automated. It can import just fine. But it doesn't automatically go and import any game you own without asking which is how Playnite worked for me when I tried it. And by default it doesn't import games that are not installed on your computer. Another big plus is that Launchbox has an awesome games database. I have actually often used it before I ever installed the software to find graphics for the custom icons I create for all of my games...

The main drawback is that it's payed software. You can do a LOT in the free version. But certain quality of life features are limited to the payed version.

Thanks for that info, I think I am sticking with Playnite just because it is open source and seems to have a lot of people working on it, feels very updated and the community seems really active. I waste enough money on games without spending even more on a games library manager lol...

Speaking of which, I just found "Full Screen Mode" - Holy cow, I thought playnite was good before, but this is incredibly easy to use and informative, you can even use your controller in the games menu and some add-ons allow you to add in all kinds of videos and graphics and stuff for each game -- and I think there`s... music? wow, nice, relaxing, ear pleasing music to pick a game to play by! -- I am also finding that you can do a hell of a lot with playnite if you are willing to find, download and setup all the add-ons...

I am actually looking for a sort of plug and play experience (I think I have PTSD from trying to keep Galaxy running over the last few years), so the fact that you have to download and configure add-ons to do things just like not make duplicates of the same game show up as a separate entry is kinda a pain in the a$$ -- ideally they would just integrate and automate this addon into the main program as it is a must have and by far the most popular add-on.
