Hello,

yesterdey I tried GOG Galaxy 2.0 for the first time.
Downloaded and installed it. Ok, no problem.

Tried the first game that I own on GOG (Lula, the sexy empire).
Game crashes after the intro. Tried a couple of times, always the same. Downloaded and installed it without galaxy, it worked fine.

Then I connected my steam account with gog galaxy. Works and looks good.
Started the first steam game (Rosenkreuzstilette Freudenstachel) in galaxy, ingame screen is shifted to the right.
Started the game via steam client, it runs fine.

Now tried to turn off the steam client and run a steam game in galaxy.
Doesn't work, i get an error message: Cannot find steamui.dll.
So I basically need to have steam installed and running to use steam games in galaxy? I thought the point was to replace the many clients?

I would like to use Gog Galaxy, but seriously, that many issues in the first attempts already?
Is there a solution? (Except don't use galaxy?)

Galaxy does not replace other clients. All it does (and poorly) is allow you to see what games you have on other platforms. To play steam games you will still need steam because Galaxy will launch steam and only then launch the game. Again, it is not a replacement for other clients, its more of a joint library view and launcher of other launchers.

Thank you for the answer.
Too bad, then I think I am not going to use gog galaxy. Anyway one of the big advantages of gog is that you don't have to use a client.
