I bought the early access version of BG3 yesterday.

I've got an iMac, with about 560 GB available according to the Finder status bar. Still, when I try to install BG3 via GOG Galaxy 2 I get the message "Not enough free space on disk 'Macintosh HD'". Starting the installation anyway fails immediately, it doesn't try to download anything until it runs out of space either (which it wouldn't do).

Even removing other games (including the large Divinity Original Sin 2) to clear up space in case it was confused did not have an effect...

Suggestions?

Manual download is not available for Mac, so that way is closed.

Worked around it by installing to an external hard drive, and copying it onto the Mac. Removed that hard drive, asked Galaxy to "install" it to the location it exists - and it seemed happy.

Had the same issue, and resolved it by manually purging the free space:

Looking at that URL, it's not the same issue - as there is no purgeable space marked there and there are also hundreds of GB available. The categories mentioned don't apply here, it's a pretty fresh system and there just aren't that much used of the things mentioned.

Updates worked until today, the large BG3 update failed now. I've submitted a bug, so I'm hoping they'll fix it soon.
the large 62G update that came out today is patch 3 which larian blatantly lied whould not be so big when people trashed them last time... bottom line is the Gog patchs are going to be sucked up by people all trying to grab it at the same time and server crash is going to result for a few days just like last time and the time before that

i recommend you turn off auto updates for bg3 for at least a week until things settle down but its your game mate... good luck

Nah, this was the same error - Galaxy complaining about there not being enough space on the system, even though there is plenty. It did resolve itself recently, though.
