It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

people that still think Congress has any real power are going to just love W11 with its Task Manager blocks and fake Registry codes ;)
I'm using GOG Galaxy 2.0.43 on W7 Pro SP1 & have never had any GOG Galaxy ongoing issues.

However, when it occasionally crashes I start up 'task manager' (shift+ctrl+ESC), goto 'Processes' tab & 'end process tree' with anything starting with GOG or Galaxy - otherwise a restart or logout will be required to do the same thing.

Just use 2.0.37.

Download offline installer:
https://cdn.gog.com/open/galaxy/client/2.0.37.384/setup_galaxy_2.0.37.384.exe

Install, but don't launch

1) Delete C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\redists\GalaxyUpdater.exe

2) Add "/runWithoutUpdating" to the Galaxy shortcut

- Right click short cut, properties, "Target" box
- append a space and "/runWithoutUpdating" at the end (without quotation marks)

3) Disable Galaxy autostart in settings
Wait, i'm confused.

GoG Galaxy seems to work fine on my Win7 machine. Am i missing something ?

I agree with the OP though, most software i've seen lately that stopped supporting Win7 often did so for no good reason at all.

Example : Python.

They simply decided some day that they should stop supporting Win7.
That now has caused "ripple effects" of software that needs certain Python versions to also no longer support Win7.

Is there a good technical reason ? No.
Just people who like to decide over the head of others.

Fun fact, Microsoft will keep doing this and force everyone along, "stopping support" for OSes over and over again, with the same effects. Windows 10 support is also already planned to be dropped in a few years.
You know, that Windows version that was supposed to last "forever".

If gog was smart they would also leave the last version of games which work with Windows XP and now Windows 7.

Well that sounds retarded. So now people have to play the game of syncing which version works with the rest of the other versions of software. :S
The latest Galaxy version works correclty on Win7, except for.. the overlay (e.g: achievs notices).
Does it still work for you?

EDIT1: oh no, it seems it's not compatible with OBS anymore? :\

EDIT2: I'm going to try starting Galaxy->game->OBS.
Sadly I can only check if the overlay is working at the start or.. when achievs should appear.
Even if annoying, it would be good if this workaround were a solution

It had to happen in some point of time. Even browsers dropped their support for Win7.

Plan was to drop Win7 Chrome(ium) support January 15, 2022 but they pushed it one year for the sake of enterprise customers. That's like 90% of Windows browsers right here

For example Chrome and Yandex browsers. I was forсed to update my certificates directly through the console. Now as a previous commentator said the full drop of support will be moved to the next year, but it's still a thing.
The certificate expiration was unrelated, Chrome is STILL supported on Windows 7. And accordly to the website, Yandex is still supported too.

So no browser dropped support to Windows 7.
