I've had the same problem countless times with my new orders. It's not such a big problem with smaller files. You just "retry" it. Also when download/installing it make sure there are no other files queuing or the download will just continue with the next file. I'm afraid that you need to sit in front of the computer hitting the "retry" whenever "fail" (error E9) appears. More on this if I succeed in downloading a 42 GB file (Wolfenstein: the New Order).

Currently attempting to install a game:
"Installation Failed (E9)
GOG.com servers returned an unknown error"

Naturally the failure occurred around 91% complete of a 24+ gb download.
I've found a few other threads floating around the internet looking for solutions (some say fresh install of GOG Galaxy client, make sure to delete certain data folders), but is there an official GOG response, I hope?
I'm downloading the "offline backup game installers" now as a possible solution.
Apologies for the bump on a post on a couple of months old thread, but I can't see a more recent one on this topic. I'm literally getting the E9 Installation failure almost every single time I try and install a game purchased from GOG.

I find myself having to kick off the installation first thing in the morning and then because I have to go into work I come in in the evenings and find the installation (of Pillars of Eternity 2) has invariably failed. Rinse and repeat, I've been trying for days now to install a game because the failure occurs and I can't, as people have suggested before, just sit about here ready to hit the retry button every time it happens.

Even then, when I can hit the retry button, the button itself isn't always selectable

Its completely and utterly unacceptable and whatever problem is happening on GOG side it needs to be fixed. I want to purchase my games here as I like the idea of GOG and I want to support these guys but come on, this is an absolute joke!
Same issue here. Feel like I'm going nuts not seeing anyone else talk about it. Slow slow speeds and then times out and fails with E9. Is there like a server status page or something?
Out of the blue same problem here. Download speed gets low at the end and tends to fail the download.
Same for me. Lot of error E9 today :/
Same issue here on Baldur's Gate 3 today update.

No network issue on my side, so I guess it's a Gog server side problem.
Hey OP and everyone else in this thread, I'm having the same exact problems, tried installing Dying light enhanced, gets to 75% and just fails. My internet is working fine otherwise so I'm assuming it's a problem on their side. Going to do a reinstall of galaxy just in case.

I can confirm the same issue here. This is why I usually keep an offline backup of the installation files.

I was having trouble installing the offline backup files via Galaxy?
It worked to download updates via the offline installers some minutes ago, but those servers are broken now to. Looks like GOG servers are going completely down right now.

Yeah bro I was looking around at this was happening to the Aussies like a week ago. It took GOG forever to acknowledge or even fix it.
Same issues for me as well. Guess I'll take my money back to Steam.
Same here with a fresh Baldur's Gate 3 update. It started automatically and it failed. I hit retry a couple of times but it failed every time about 8 to 10% into the download. So I uninstalled it, tried to install it again from scratch, but no dice. Same thing again and again. Download speed mostly sits at 0,1 MB/s, sometimes hitting 3 MB for a short while.
