Yes I know I should contact support wich I will but think it´s been new years and all that I bet support will be slow for a while which is understandable.

So I ask here in hope of a solution. So trying to install Heroes of might and magic it gets to 97% then it fails with Error Install Failed (E2) Failed to install finalize instaltation.

So I tried to do it manually which and then go in to gog galaxy then go manage installations and import folder. Then it says updating and get to 97% and fails again to finalize the import.

So I wonder what the problem is and what does (E2) stand fore hmm
I have the same issue, but with Heroes of Might and Magic III Complete. Either OP meant that, it is a general bug, or it is a bug with the Heroes series.

So I download the installer from the GOG website now and hope that works. Galaxy should automatically recognize the installation then.

I get the same error with Monkey Island 2. Already tried downloading it from the homepage and executing it as admin. Didn't work. Could you solve the problem?
Having the same error, but finding that it doesn't happen when I put the games on C.
It does it when I install the game on F, my external SSD.
All the files download, the game works, but it doesn't properly finish so it doesn't show up in Galaxy.
Yeah it´s strange it also happend with 2 other games but it´s like out of 50 games 3 games is like can not finish instaling.
Same Problem here with Witcher 3... :-(
I'm having an E2 problem with X4. I try to validate an install from the offline installers and run into "Update failed (E2): Failed to finalize the update."

Same thing for me, also for Monkey Island 2! I went into GOG Galaxy's game folders though and it *seemed* to all be intact, I even ran the exe for monkey island 2 and it booted correctly. I also tried deleting the game files and retrying the installation, but it stopped around 97% again and gave the same exact error message mentioned in this thread.

Super weird! I guess I'll just run it "offline" as needed unless anyone here finds a solution
