I wish that I had never upgraded to GOG GALAXY 2.0

Background:
Ever since I updated I have been unable to connect / login via the app.
I went through the whole process of uninstalling and reinstalling. Clearing all my games, Reset Password, Sign out / Sign in and nothing.
After doing all the general checks (been in IT for over 30yrs) I eventually contacted Support... Well!! that was a Complete waste of my time... After many back and forth emails, and following ALL the instructions (pretty much everything I had already done), I get told that I don't have to use the app and can just download the games directly. HOW does this solve the issue??? So, in other words, "Our app is broken and we're not willing to try and fix it" was the final implication"!?.
My last attempt to fix this myself apart from Reinstalling everything was I tried to clear the registry of all known GOG footprints. Still not working.

Question:
1) Has anyone else had this issue of GOG not going past the login screen?
2) Have you been able to resolve it?

[04.04.21 1611] I just came across this issue today, but only with my desktop. My laptop connects just fine. Both are running the same version of Galaxy 2. Uninstalled/reinstalled GOG Galaxy on desktop, received notifications via anti-virus so I made the necessary exceptions and verified settings were applied. Tried moving those exceptions to different folders to mirror my laptop's layout. That didn't seem to work so I disabled anti-virus, switched networks, I can login to GOG sites just fine, but Galaxy won't clear login screen.
I know this doesn't help you, but I also wanted to vent my frustration. Especially as I have one that works and one that doesn't. Both are installed with much of the same software. I hope you were able to resolve your issue in the time since your original posting.
