I am really puzzled why devs are slowly pushing for win10+ upgrades, instead of just keeping Linux/W7 friendly. However, for something as simple as a game launcher. Seems an overkill. I took a look at the API/URL used for game and achievements as well as user info and it has nothing much to do with an OS. It is most if not all metadata. that one can simply pull off any browser - which I believe that is what the client is - and giant browser. From what I can see, it is using a similar design as A.O.L. used back in the 90's to surf the web.

Can't launch GoG Galaxy 2.0, double click seems to load (the procces appears on the task manager) and nothing, then the procees dissapear from the TM.

I've had issues with GOG Galaxy for months now. I dual boot Windows and my 2.0 beta for 10 x64 doesn't update at all and gave me some other issues I can't quite remember because I haven't logged into that (trash spyware)OS in over 6 months now.

Anyways, I just picked up some new games and tried the latest version of GOG Galaxy (2.0.41.150) for my Windows 8.1 x64 system, thinking maybe it finally works now, and much like you it DOESN'T EVEN LAUNCH. This is really headache inducing.

Well, I found one that works...

I like the idea of Galaxy 2.0 but it's very ambitious and just never properly works me. If you do decide to go with Galaxy 1.2.67.58 you might want to block the updater with your firewall. The updater is located in... C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\redists\GalaxyUpdater.exe
If you can't find it lookup how to enable "hidden files and folders" for windows.

Ya same one I been using. Just checked on my W7 nothing past v2.0 works there either. Not sure what the deal is with devs becoming engaged with W10+.

I think they are gunning for #2 steam, and therefore trying to match the client for client. Even steam works flawlessly on W7 (and some earlier).

O well, Maybe I'll write my own launcher LOL (hey don't laugh, I already wrote 2 back ends for Minecraft, launchers for consoles EMUS', massive editor for WoW private servers - currently working on an editor for dosbox conf files, meh so I get bored hahhah)

Why isn't this fix already? has beed a few day now and i'm still unable to launch galaxy it's getting annoying. I even try re-installing but nothing, c'mon guys.

On fix for BEX errors is to turn off DEP, but the client is set to have it on always. Is that needed? Or was that on default when compiled?

since today at noon gog galaxy no longer runs. the login does not seem to work. upgrade via setup exe does not work either.after about 30 seconds i only see this attached message and i can only get rid of it by pressing ALT + F4.

In the folder %programdata%\GOG.com\Galaxy\logs I found in the file GalaxyClient.log
