Can i use Galaxy 2.0 with Win7, too?

Yes, Galaxy 2.0 works just fine on Win7.

It seems to depend, which updates Win 7 has installed. I have reinstalled my Win 7, this time with updates slipstreamed into the installationdisc. Galaxy does not work at all anymore (»stopped working«-messages when installing, starting, uninstalling).

I am looking for an older version of Galaxy, but I am afraid, that it something inside Windows is preventing it.

Galaxy 2 got updated / busted this month and no longer works on 7

you can install older builds of Galaxy if you want to or upgrade to current Windows 10

That is interesting. I was certain, that I was using the most recent Galaxy client until Tuesday.

Which was the last version, that worked for you ? I think, I tried yesterday also an older version before 2.0.40, perhaps 2.0.37.

2.0.37 should work on 7 yes and you will also need to disable the auto-update in order to block it from shitting itself... there are plenty of threads going into details but this one will do

ChicknDuck: I thank thee. I have not found this thread during my research.
I've just done this method (through the link provided) and I'm doing alright. I made sure to block the "GalaxyUpdater.exe' in my firewall before running the application in case it tried to update during installation (probably not needed).
it took a minute to sync my library but all is well so far...

I was very happy yesterday, when I had access to this powerful tool again and it synced all my edits back. I keep the 2.0.37 installer in a cloud just in case.
I did not block the Updater via the Firewall. Nothing happened during the installation except the installation. Naturally I unchecked to run Galaxy after the end of the process.

In case anyone is interested, 2.0.37.384 works on my Win7 system.

Install version 2.0.30.20, that one works with Windows 7. And don't update it, until GOG resolved the problem.

Please don't install GOG GALAXY app from untrusted sources as above. Consider removing the link. :)

The Windows 7 problem is solved and official installer is available in the post I've linked above. In a matter of ~1-2 weeks this fix should be available in the general main client version.
