Nice to see that I am not alone. I reported this problem over a week ago, providing logs several times when I was asked to clean up, including full removal of all the traces of GOG Galaxy. I was hesitant at first because this request didn't make any logical sense (crashes like that are ALWAYS application fault), but I went along. Of course, clean install didn't fix anything and I'm still waiting for further info...
Same issue since a few versions. Manually updated to 2.0.57 and 2.0.58. Crashes all the time. Windows defender doesn't report anything, so that's not it. Well, I can live without the client. Fortunately all games work just fine without it.

That's two versions behind the latest. In fact, the second-to-last version fixes a security vulnerability found in the above version. I have to wonder if to fix these crashes, all they need to do is update this third-party library.

I was actually starting to worry something was wrong with my PC. I was getting constant errors in my event viewer, and DosBox was crashing, too. Everything was working fine until I recently updated GoG Galaxy, and the errors are the same as mentioned here.
Okay Ladies and Gents, let's take odds on how soon if ever GOG fixes this issue.

I mean unfortunately it's been happening for weeks now, with no end in sight. Except for the tired "it's you antivirus software" excuse. If GOG Galaxy wants to play with the big boys this needs to be fixed. Otherwise it's Steam all the way from now on!

satoru: After the latest update I"m getting pretty much constant crashes of this service in the event viewer. BEX errors and app crashes galore. Ive tried reinstalling GOG. But I have not yet tried uninstalling it entirely and reinstalling.

dim.146: I have exactly the same here, after upgrading from 2.0.55 to 2.0.57. I have filed a bug report, and attached the logs from C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\logs, but if more people report their information, the GOG people might be able to find out what the root cause is.

That is, I assume they will have tested the 2.0.57 version before it went out, but I guess there is something different about our systems from their systems. :)
I filed a bug report as well, but it was instantly marked as "closed" due to "beta"? What the hell?

Well, technically it's still in beta... for years now :D
I guess they're... not wrong.
Do we bet how long, if ever, will it take them to fix it? I mean, there is a simple bug that prevents gog galaxy 2 from working properly when used in remote desktop environment. And I mean, really simple, which you can patch yourself if you really want to. Since the very first 2.0 I've tried. And that's been quite a long time.
My event viewer is filled with those gog client fault error's. What the hell is going on here?

Simply something GOG don't want to acknowledge or fix in a hurry or at all, that's for damn sure.

They really botched this build. They need to roll back a version. The overlay or whatever it was isn't worth the faults.
I'm not sure who's running thing at Gog but they've gone downhill fast.

I think they should scrap galaxy 2.0 completely. Older client while it was pretty basic it worked really really well with very little issues. Ever since this 2.0 crap came out it's been a freaking rollercoaster. Doubt they care much. Em looking into migrating my gog client usage to something like playnite.

I would go for that. I liked the older one!

Yeah Great idea! Thanks...

I really like the format and design of "Playnite".
