Yeah, progress has been slow and it has barely improved. I disconnected all integrations months ago and just use it as a GOG games launcher now.

Well, yes, the Playnite Addon doesn't do it the way Galaxy does. The merge in Galaxy is really nice, but for me (personally) the DuplicateHider does a good job. It's not perfect, but it's good enough, I think.

I think I'm finally giving up on Galaxy as a launching hub. I'll still use it for GOG games, but Playnite looks quite good.:)

I admit DuplicateHider is not as good as GOG Galaxy for combining duplicates.

However, DuplicateHider has a huge benefit: it allows you to create custom groups, so you can even group different editions of the same game into a single entry. You can also reorder the priority so that the first one that is displayed is the one you prefer.

I've made the transition to Playnite.
So far, no regret.

I agree since retrying to connect my account took me minutes just to get it working and I do not know if I will buy games from GoG again since this issue is BS. I might just delete my account since GoG are not allowing me to sync my STEAM account with GoG Galaxy as it keeps failing upon retries.

I appreciate what this program is trying to do (putting all the launchers and all games into just one app) but the fact of the matter is that its just way too buggy to function properly, its unreliable. I've had this app since the first beta launch like 2-3 years ago and there wasnt 1 version of it that worked properly consistently. There were always problems with it.

Too bad, good idea but it just doesnt work.

They should fix Steam as a priority. #FACT!

I found a workaround on github > galaxy-integration-steam.
contacted the GOG costumer service in hope, that they look into this.

Check if GOG Galaxy is up to date. (Top left cog>Check for updates).
Once up to date, close GOG Galaxy.
Delete steam_ca27391f-2675-49b1-92c0-896d43afa4f8-#################-storage.db
in C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage\plugins

Extract backend_steam_network.py to the location below, overwriting old one. (If you can't extract get WinRAR or 7Zip)
