Wait, really? Who decides these things, I know they're community integrations but come on.

Try the backend_steam_network.zip in the following thread:

https://github.com/FriendsOfGalaxy/galaxy-integration-steam/issues/159

Worked for me..

Remeber to shut down GOG completely before replacing the file!

I tried everything I found on web. what worked for me is:
(gog doesn't let me post links)
close the gog app.

copied content of src folder from this link:
github -> /thibmo/galaxy-integration-steam/tree/fix_steam_2023_01
into local folder "%localappdata%\GOG.com\Galaxy\plugins\installed\steam_ca27391f-2675-49b1-92c0-896d43afa4f8"

then copied the file in this zip in same local folder and overwrite:
github-> /FriendsOfGalaxy/galaxy-integration-steam/issues/159#issuecomment-1489195530

started gog and connected normal.

That works .... thanks ...

Edit: Mhmmmm .... closing GOG and opening again and you have to connect to steam again because it is showing as "offline"

That's a false connection of similar terms that mean different things. They meant "GOG connect", the project where you could link your Steam account to GOG to get some of your already purchased Steam games for GOG as well.

GOG integration, i.e. connecting to your library, was never official, and it's not what the news meant when it said "integration has been ended". Those are two different things, lol.

Thank you very much, worked fine for me!!!!

For those having a hard time, just unpack the contents of the archive in the link below into local folder "%localappdata%\GOG.com\Galaxy\plugins\installed\steam_ca27391f-2675-49b1-92c0-896d43afa4f8" overwriting everything.

I tried both methods, the github and mega files. Closed GOG before replacing the files/folders. Nothing worked and Steam still shows as offline. Clicking on the Retry, does nothing... getting tired of Galaxy and even though I hate Steam for many reasons, GOG keeps doing all these stupid changes that is pushing me away from them and I'm using Steam even more now.

Same problem here.
I just copied my Steam games into the main database.

I would ditch GOG Galaxy too, but there's already too much manual work in it for me. I got my entire gaming collection cataloged in GOG, so I have one spot I can check to see if I already own a game, ensuring I don't accidentally repurchase it from a different source.

Although, GOG really needs to get a handle on this. They should take direct control of these APIs/plugins, since it's clear that the third party APIs were a strong selling point for those who adopted GOG Galaxy as their primary 'game center' platform.

I'm in the same boat.

GOG Galaxy is such an unreliable finicky piece of garbage.

But I've sunk hours into troubleshooting problems.

I haven't even been able to update in months because the mods here told me I'd have to reinstall GOG Galaxy to update.

I don't want to risk undoing all my work.

But now Steam just doesn't even connect. Rofl. Despite unsyncing it and resyncing it with a login and everything.

So... now I think i will ditch GOG.

I think I will ditch it and pray that someone else makes something similar.

Funktioniert nur bedingt. Bei einem Neustart des PC ,hat man das alte Problem wieder.
For me this solution works half way first i tried manual editing it didn't work then i downloaded the zip file. . backend_steam_network.zip. After the second reset g.o.g integrated steam but no games needed reloaded the list here, but next reboot showed offline status again but kept the list It can't be repeated, it doesn't react, you have to postpone and reintegrate, after such a process, luckily, it downloads the list in the same cycle. Unfortunately, this cycle repeats every time you start g.o.g. for the steam plugin
