Same problem for over a week now, steam offline and nothing helps, tbh i dont care much.. for now steam launcher is a lot better anyway, so theres no point to run games from steam through gog.
damn this galaxy client doesn't detect all my steam games including the witcher 3 goty...the plugin keeps crashing frequently and sometimes i can't disconnect the steam account from it...there goes my free gog version of the game...how do i claim if it can't find the game in my steam library...
I must also bring to attention that the Steam community integration plugin crashes 100% of the time now, for the past couple of days.

Yacoolbhatt: Anyone still having this problem or is it me only, i have done each and everything which people suggests, set my steam profile to public, family view is disabled too but still it doesn't let me connect to any of the given plugins also i checked my installed plugins folder and nothing's there. Each and every time I try to connect my GOG client 2.0 with any of the plugins, it says "failed to start. retry" Can anyone help me, I send a mail regarding the issue and what they have in answer for me was completely irrelevant, they gave me answer for how to download the game from GOG client 2.0. I need help, please.
Did you try manually installing the plugins into the folder?
The GoG forum on Reddit has a month-old (as of this writing) thread titled "Galaxy 2.0 Steam integration issues" [sic] in which a user provides information on how Windows users can fix the issue by manually installing version 0.46. So far, it seems to work.

xtc6954: Got the same problem and like you I've tried everything suggested in this post, none of these proposed solutions have worked for me
umm i dont know how but as soon as I changed my connection every problem related to GOG Client solved by itself, Steam, EGS, uplay, origins every client connects properly with no issue with my GOG Client, My games on GOG which were not showing up after purchase started showing up on my library after connection change, GOG Client kept on saying I am offline but as soon as I change my connection it started showing me online, I wasn't able to download my games from GOG Client but same the problem solved itself after the new connection. My previous connection speed was 5MBPS and new one has a speed of 2MBPS but GOG was working trash on 5MBPS connection and working completely fine as it should be on 2MBPS connection lol XD :)

Hubador: I had the same issue. I managed to solve it by
- starting steam
- click on your steam name
- click on "view my profile"
- click on "Edit Profile"
- click on "My Privacy Settings"
- set "My Profile" on public
- set "Game Details" on public
- click on "My Profile", scroll down and click on "Save changes"

After that GOG Galaxy 2.0 connected to steam.

GOG should fix it, not users using older version, i mean WTF?

can confirm that manually installing latest version of steam integrator @github -> /FriendsOfGalaxy/galaxy-integration-steam/releases/tag/v0.51.2 works and auto install from galaxy client does not

Maybe a stupid question, I downloaded the "windows" ordner on githup, what have i to do now with that data? :D
if i'm not mistaken fire up your file explorer and copy/paste this:

%localappdata%\GOG.com\Galaxy\plugins\installed

there should be a steam_whatever-folder in it.

but it didn't solve the problem for me with the latest v0.53
I had the same problem for months and all I did was uninstall Galaxy 2.0, because it's a piece of shit. Saved me many headaches.

If GOG itself can't be bothered to fix it, especially when there many threads and posts about this problem, then it's dead on arrival.

No actual reason to use it really.

Guys I found a simple fix if you are still not able to connect:

So I completely closed Galaxy and deleted
steam_[..a bunch of numbers..]-storage.db file from %programdata%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage\plugins\
and
steam_[..a bunch of numbers..] folder from %localappdata%\GOG.com\Galaxy\plugins\installed\
After the next Galaxy launch, I was able to download the new Steam plugin in the integration settings.
Connected again, and everything is working fine so far.

YOU NEED TO DELETE BOTH OF THOSE. Deleting the plugin only from appdata doesn't fix it.

Thanks for figuring out the second location to delete the files from, it fixed the issue for me.
