Are there any chances you guys are going to add the Epic, Uplay, Origin, and Steam stores onto Galaxy 2.0? By using a built-in web browser? If you guys do have plan on doing this, It'd be nice if you guys added the community hubs too.

Another question, unrelated to topic.

Does Galaxy 2.0 notify it's users if there's an update for a game from another platform, or will it simply update when you attempt to launch the game from Galaxy 2.0?

Edit: (Since I know some of you will repeat yourselves.) I don't think they will add the stores, from a business perspective.

How would Galaxy 2.0 encourage the Origin and PlayStation userbase to buy EA and PlayStation titles on GOG when those titles don't even exist on their store in the first place? If people want to buy an EA title, they're gonna go to Origin. Might as well add a feature to browse through their store for convenience sake, which I thought was the entire purpose of Galaxy 2.0. I thought their focus was on old school titles anyways?

It makes no sense for gog have a store of their competitors since their business goal in the first place for galaxy 2.0 is to get more users to buy from them. gog's focus is not on old titles anymore for years actually, they have new games and still support old games.

I understood what you said the first time. I’m asking you, how would adding the Origin store harm their business model? Again, GOG doesn’t even have access nor will ever have access to EA titles, so how would giving an option to buy EA tittles (I.e. Origin) on Galaxy 2.0 harm their sales? I understand why they wouldn’t do it for Steam, but it’d be nice if they at the very least added the Community Hub, maybe accessible by right clicking on Steam titles? I’m just throwing out suggestions here.

He tried to tell you that It makes no sense from a business perspective. Having Galaxy 2.0 interface with other (store)plattforms makes sense to draw more users in. But it makes no sense to offer them an easy route to buy from other stores as convenience is the keyword: the idea is that people rather buy from the shop they have immediate access to, then from the shop they need to open a browser and navigate to.
I have no clue whether this works or not, but I guess there is a reason whys companies like facebook pay millions of dollars to phone manufacturers so that their application come preinstalled with the phones.

Gog officially did not say anything about adding comunity hubs so my guess is no - the only way I see this could happen if they allow shortcuts to be placed in the sidebar that open user customizable urls in the integrated browser (as they do it already with their own shop)

Yes, I understand that. It would be counter productive from a business perspective to add the Steam store to Galaxy 2.0. Why even give the option to buy from Steam, right? However, EA titles are exclusive to the Origin platform. It’s not like they’d lose sales by adding Origin to Galaxy 2.0, from my understanding, they’re not even selling the same games. They’re not even technically competitors. So, in Origins case, how would that be bad for business? Hopefully those customizable URLs will be a thing in Galaxy 2.0. That way, we can add the Stores too, since it doesn’t seem likely. There are some good games from EA, namely older titles though haha.

Well, as said convenience is the key as people are lazy: "i got money to spent, mhh, do I really want to open the browser and naviagte to the origin store ?...oh didn't know gog has xxx in his catalog, wanted to give it a try anyway"
Will most people have that thought process ? Probably not, but some people will and there is no loss (for gog) in not doing it this way

Ummm What? Why would they do that? It makes absolutely zero sense. Do you see Origin, Uplay or Epic on Steam? No. And you never will. It seems like a very very strange and rather ignorant request tbh

I've already established that it doesn't seem likely GOG will add third party stores to Galaxy 2.0, in agreement with everyone else. All you did was point out what everyone has already discussed, that I agreed to. What was the purpose of that pointless comment? Or are you just a moron, and can't be bothered to read a couple lines of sentences?

well having ANOTHER extra launcher again doesnt make sense either UNLESS its like they said it COMBINES everything... not having the store or the community hub isnt modern combining.. if i still have to go steam or anywhere else to get the proper Dls and unaviable stuff ... so it does make sense to add ANYTHING the others have into it bcuz then YOU have the upperhand ... y the competitions store is accesible and their loved functions but u know what... YOUR info page will be always seen first and youll become the one and only launcher...everybody will be using so if u want that power u better deliver simple as that...if all it does is just save me a few clicks whats the point in having another marketing machine.. this way the other launchers even have a chance to improve and maybe open up them selfes to compete...hope you can now at least see 1% of sense in it lol have a great day

What you describe would indeed make sense if the COMBINING launcher would offer SUPERIOR functions or INCREASED convenience. Galaxy seems to be very far from that point.

As it looks to me now, any resources which could still be spent on making the GOG's tool better, and actually build a large enough user base and reputation to convince users of the other tools to switch here, is being used very prematurely for integrations, which undermine the unique selling point of GOG, and eroding trust of its own userbase.

If that would be my company, I would seriously start searching for a hidden agent amongst my crew.

But it is not my company, and that's why I'm pretty interested in observing how will it develop over the next years.
