Zombies Are the New Vampires (TIME)
Well, it's nice to see how zombies affect nowadays collective imagination from the standpoint of someone knowing the power of their allegory since the first time he (me) saw Dawn of the Dead (the European/Italian version, the USA one is far lower) many years ago....

The zombies trend is on the way out.
Must be something with how easy corpses decay...

After that godawful piece of crap that is (argh) Twilight hit the mainstream, vampires are over. Kaput. Terminated.
Nothing about vampires can be scary or interesting anymore after that....thing.
Zombies, on the other hand, are scary and dangerous enough to become usable without plunging into ridicule.
In six months' time, we'll see a new TIME article titled, "Cylons Are the New Zombies".

One crappy, poorly written teenage Mary-sue series is not enough to kill off Vampire awesomeness. Especially for the anime fans. Go snag the Hellsing OVAs if you want to see vampires done right.
Personally, Twilight's author needs to look up the word fairy....

You don't want to say that near teenage girls. Or even a few gay teenage boys, for that matter.
I hate Twilight with a passion.
Actually, I take that back. Classic faeries are bad ass in their own right. It would be an insult for them to be associated with Twilight.

What's this nasty thing you call Twilight? Must be only a bad hollywood dream, dunno and do not want to know anything about that :-P
Zombies FTW.
Zombies are the new Ninja Pirate Robot Ghouls......
Also... Twilight = How Someone Managed to Basically Neuter A Formerly Cool Predator and Make Money While DOing It.

Twilight always reminds me of that episode in an early season of Buffy where all the kids are dressing up as vampires and trying to meet them because they think they are cool.
Didn't they all get slaughtered?

Obviously O.o
There is, and will ever been only ONE Dawn of the Dead, that is the Romero's one in collaboration with Dario Argento and music by the Goblins....

Obviously you have not seen or read Let the Right One In.
DAYUMMMMMNNN.
And to the topic starter...why is Romero's version the "European/Italian" version when it's made by a famed American film-maker? I almost thought you were talking about the POS Zombi 2, or something. The band is just plain Goblin, too, not "the Goblins."
Everybody is talking about how good is the original Dawn of the Dead, but Zack Snyder's remake is also a pretty good zombie movie. But hey, I understand people who think that liking older movies makes you cool.
