keeveek: One even is buying a video game company that was pretty much burnt down at the point anyway

The second is about buying the biggest home made videos platform in the world earning 6 billion dollars a year and on which thousands of people are making a living.

Oh my, how do they compare!
I felt that when sentences like "the worst thing to ever happen ever" come into play, we were into joking territory. But hey, do feel welcome to enlighten me on how wrong I am by making a comparison of 2 bigger companies buying smaller ones and doing their best to squeeze the smaller one out.

I already explained it you in the post you are quoting.

cw8: As bad as EA buying Westwood, but I don't want to enter another EA argument..
Yeah, neither do I. I just felt it was a good way to lift the mood a bit, obviously I was wrong and shouldn't have mentioned it.

Elmofongo: But this Totalbiscuit and Angry Joe we are talking about. I am certain they can afford it. Or they can join the Escapist or Angry Joe can fully join Nostalgia Critic's site.
avatar
cw8: Angry Joe is already part of NC's site of Channel Awesome.
TB isn't affected by the content ID shit, as far as I know.

There are many other Youtubers getting their videos claimed here and there.
Yeah but Joe links his youtube vids to channel awesome, as if he is a third party host. He should be using Blip vids instead of youtube.

I know, that's what I said.

Elmofongo: Google buying youtube is the worst thing to ever happen ever.

P1na: Where would you rate EA buying Bullfrog, then?
I know you said not continue the EA, but I am just giving my answer the question you asked me:

EA buying Origin was worse, at least Origin did not end with a monumentally dissipointing game (Ultima 9) and a MMORPG whose popularity was short lived (Only 2 years until Everquest kicked in)

What do you mean? Ultima Online still lives and is one of the longest living MMO games out there.

Sometimes I wonder, if it's best to get a disappointing game than no game at all. In one you get to play at least something, even if that's utter crap; in the other you don't get to play at all but the game will be forever be untainted on your head. Every time I see the trailer of DK3 I feel that way.

But yeah this a discussion for a different day.

It lasted long in terms of existance, but not so much in terms of popularity.

I mean ever since Everquest relased Ultima Online became irrelevant, not only that asshole players abusing the games rules like the massive player killing, even if you just made a new character, was unnacceptable and Origin did not do a good job at maintaing the problem, instead of making some sort of developer run law enforcement (which would make sense regarding the kind of game it was) they went the lazy route from changing the color of the names of people (Blue means innocent, Grey means criminal, Red means Murderer) to destroying the old game world and replacing it with a new onem but removed the killing player system.

Well, at least it's not shut down after a year of unpopularity and people who still enjoy it can play it.
Yeah! I never got to play tabula rasa!

Don't forget those emulators that play the game in its original form.

Elmofongo: Whats DK3?
Dungeon Keeper 3. It was cancelled.

Oh Dungeon Keeper 3, you know I still have not purchased a Bullfrog game (only Populous 1, but never got around to playing it)
