Buy Resident Evil and remake 2, 3, and Code Veronica in Style of Resident Evil Remake and HDfy Remake, 0, and Outbreak aswell as balance Outbreak single player mode like a pause when checking the Map and inventory and the option to remove virus meter.

Oh and buy Call of Duty and Make it a Tactical Shooter like Arma with a strategic, Story/character driven campaign with a new graphics engine. That will really spin some heads .

More Thief games. If that doesn't work then more Might and Magic RPG's.
Hard one to call

Its got to be a toss up between reforming the original Ultima Online team (pre-trammel), getting EPIC back to remake Unreal + Unreal Tournament (mostly just a new engine), or reforming Bullfrog for 2012 editions of just about every game they made :P
I'd bring in David Perry and all the other people who used to work for Shiny and make Sacrifice 2.
I'd round up the old Bullfrog team and put them to work on Dungeon Keeper 3.

Iain: I would go with one of the devs that have turned their back on the PC. I think I would get EPIC to do Gears of War 2 & 3 for the PC using DX11 Tesselation and latest tech, DX9 also though for users of older kit to make sure it scaled well for everyone.

I would also get them to release each game for no more than £20 new and try and get it on as many digital distribution services as possible so everyone got to play it.
If I went with Epic, first I'd get them to promise to keep GoW far away from the PC forever and ever. Then I'd get them to make UT4 as a PC-only release, and put the tournament back into the game. Once that was done, they could port it to consoles all they wanted.

All you need is Doom 3 and The Dark Mod.

StingingVelvet: Which developer group and single developer do you bring in? What is the general theme?

I would hire Obsidian to make an open world sci-fi RPG for the PC, the little details left up to them other than these parameters: planet hopping, mature themes, sex, stealth and charisma used to achieve objectives rather than just violence.
Well yeah, uh, that. Basically Precursors meets Deus Ex HR with some Stalker thrown in. I'm not sure about the developer though. Obsidian are very hit and miss. But if we're talking about the New Vegas team with a more modern, dependable engine and some more programmers and testers then I think that's a winner.

mondo84: In truth it'd be a no brainer for me - buy out Sierra and LucasArts properties from their holders and license new games for all those classic series.

I'd have to be really, filthy, stinking rich to pull that off though.
Yeah, this. Except that I would tell them to leave the classic series alone (apart from making all of them available on GOG), and instead get the old teams (and some promising new talents) to work on adventures with new and original themes. Kind of like Double Fine, only with the guarantee that the games will always be available DRM-free and on the PC. ;)

Also +1 for Barefoot_Monkey's idea to fund Aquaria 2.

I would buy the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. license, then try to get as many (former) Piranha Bytes and GSC Game World employees to form a new team, and have them collaborate with CD Projekt to make S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 that plays ike a hybrid between S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Gothic and a little bit of The Witcher 2.

I'd hire John Romero, Tom Hall and Loot Drop to make a Doom style 2,5D arcade shooter complete with ultra high resolution art, demons, guns, rock'n'roll and awesome.

You realize that Gears is a billion (with a B) dollar franchise, right? You'd have to be more than filthy rich to make epic do anything.
I would use all my assets to create Age of Empires 4 and ONI 2.
Cyberlore and Majesty 3 but this time it should be done properly, not like 1C:Ino-Co Majesty 2 crap
i'd buy out Firaxis and set them free!
Alpha Protocol 2.

Or a sequel to Duke Nukem Forever, called Duke Nukem Forever and Ever Till The End of Time or something, to be published in holiday season 2015.
