Which developer group and single developer do you bring in? What is the general theme?

I would hire Obsidian to make an open world sci-fi RPG for the PC, the little details left up to them other than these parameters: planet hopping, mature themes, sex, stealth and charisma used to achieve objectives rather than just violence.
I would go with one of the devs that have turned their back on the PC. I think I would get EPIC to do Gears of War 2 & 3 for the PC using DX11 Tesselation and latest tech, DX9 also though for users of older kit to make sure it scaled well for everyone.

I would also get them to release each game for no more than £20 new and try and get it on as many digital distribution services as possible so everyone got to play it.

Does buying out Bioware to remake ME3 ending count?

I'd hire SQ-Enix to make sequel to Chrono Trigger. Only term is to get original team that worked on it.
I want to hire everyone who did Unreal 1 to make Unreal 3.

If I have enough cash left, I'd make sure that people who did Return to Na Pali and Unreal 2 will never make another game, ever.
I'd probably hire the team behind Castlevania Symphony Of The Night and get them to do a proper sequel in full HD with all new artwork and sprites.
If I'm filthy rich and want to fund a game, I go to kickstarter and pitch a god game...

;)
I'd probably reform Troika and force them to make Arcanum 2. Or just gather all of my favorite RPG makers and make them make the best RPG ever. It'd be nonstandard fantasy, with lots of dialog options and freedom, and turn based combat. And a good story!
Andrew Walters and Ryan Menezes. Fantasy adventure game, heavy satire of overarching fantasy tropes (you know, the ones people mistakenly don't consider stupid) and current political discourse. My characters, public domain setting (author gets paid, too), their puzzles and code. Released for free for every platform except iOS.
In truth it'd be a no brainer for me - buy out Sierra and LucasArts properties from their holders and license new games for all those classic series.

I'd have to be really, filthy, stinking rich to pull that off though.
If I'd have the money, I'd had made Dreamfall sequal happen sooner. And perhaps I would have funded better version of QfG5, with hand painted artwork.

Ooh, this too. I'd also bribe Ragnar Tornquist and remind him that he's supposed to be making games not linear corridors with good stories and crappy combat.
Sirtech. I really want Wizardry 9 and Jagged Alliance 3.
Psychonauts 2
I'd fund Bit Blot's sequel to Aquaria.
Probably the original Lucasarts team and get them to make a new adventure game.

I was thinking probably a new Monkey Island game at first, but I think the series may have lost some of it's magic with the amount of games/backstory/running jokes there are involved now.

I'd like to see something fresh.
