Anodyne. Too bad, because I played it back when it was released and predicted the year would produce nothing better; I turned out to be completely right as always and I'm not happy about it.

Gaunathor: The Cat Lady, hands down. It made me give therapy, to deal with my depression and other mental issues, another try. What other game can you say this about?
That is awesome. I hope it will help you in the long run. As for the question, my pick is BioShock Infinite. I loved the story, dialogs and locales. And Elizabeth... ;_; Btw. I too really liked The Cat Lady, even though I'm usually not really a fan of the adventure genre, mostly because of limited character interaction. But this game really worked for me.
Bioshock Infinite
I can't keep track of everything I've played this year, but probably Dark Souls.

Unfortunately, after 60+ hours, I started to get tired of it. How long can it possibly keep going? I may pick it back up again soon, though.

the_atm: I'm going to have to unpopular with this one and say SimCity 2013.

MikeMaximus: I put over 75 hours in Simcity 2013 myself, but the continuing bugs with many things frustrates me as much as I liked it. My GOTY will have to be X-Com: Enemy Unknown + Enemy Within. I also greatly enjoyed Shadowrun Returns which I just finished, despite the included campaign being super short.
I never had problems with the game myself, hardly any bugs...

Really wanted to try X-Com myself but don't have a computer to run it lol. liking the games listed on here already
I just recently got into gaming again, the only two games I've completed this year are "System Shock 2" and "Beneath a Steel Sky".

They're both good games, but I think I'll give the edge to BaSS because of the humour :)!
Atlantis: The Lost Tales I don't know why but that game just left me with something. At the time I kind of liked it but more and more I think about it left me with a feeling that I want to play another game like it/

I played 2 and 3 but they felt like a crazy man made them.

If I had to pick another game it would be Deeper Dungeons but there is a lot of nostalgia there
Dishonored. Just got so enveloped in this game. Maybe one my favorite games of all time.

Beneath a Steel Sky is indeed an amazing game. I don't think I've played it with speech, and it's been many years so I'll go through it again in 2014 probably (my list is so long now though.)

Also adding Cat Lady to my list after reading some of the other posts here. My free time is going to make me regret making this thread I think.

Oh there's too many to list even off the top of my head. The sewage and water utilities randomly overloading when there's more than enough supply is what comes to mind from the last time I was playing it. You can take a gander at the simcity forums to see the latest ones. I'll grant it's in a much better state than it used to be, but they still seem to break as much as they fix every update.
