Reveenka: Oh, I can assure you it's on my long list of games I'd like to play! My biggest issue is finding the time. :p
It's neither very long (I guess shorter than Fate of Atlantis, if you want to beat it all three ways) nor very hard (more like a combination of interactive story and classic adventure than pure puzzle-based adventure).
Top psychological horror joy for two or three evenings (if you don't rush).
Ys Origin. After finishing it using the keyboard, I even bought a gamepad so I could play it properly.

Fenixp: I have played a lot of awesome games this year, but... Dishonored + its DLC. Finished the original 3 times, the DLC storyline 2 times. Put over 50 hours into the game. I just love it.
I was so very tempted to get this in the sales, but I have the feeling my brother may have picked up the PS3 version as a christmas gift and I don't think my PC would do it justice anyway. One way or another it's on my list of games to pick up.

This would be a real contender for me too if I hadn't been so blown away by Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines, I've sunk a lot of hours into it. Great game.

I'm leaning towards SOTS:The Pit, followed by MK9.

Bought Injustice twice.

I think I was playing King's Bounty: The legend pre2013 otherwise that would be 1# But it may have been January so I'm going to mention it.
This year I discovered GOG and rekindled my interest in PC gaming; in that time FEAR was probably my favorite but Batman: Arkham Asylum was fun too and Rogue Legacy continues to taunt me into a continued love/hate relationship.
This is the year Oblivion wins my game of the year. I finally finished the main quest. After years of experimenting, in January I put together a list of mods that I have kept all year. It's wonderful.
Valdis Story Abyssal City. I regret rushing through it and not saving it until Christmas as I had planned but oh well, that's life.
The Pit Gold edition. It's going to take until Summer to get about 95% out of it. Man, just died & got some new recipes.
Start again. Play for a few hours. Die. Repeat :)
Also Fallout Tactics Redux modded is a heavy time consumer this year.
Some point'n'clickkers: I have no mouth... and to balance the horror; Simon The Sorceror 2, with its easygoing smart-ass wizard :)
I really enjoyed The Walking Dead and The Banner Saga.

scampywiak: Shadow Warrior.
Yeeeah! It completely topped all of my expectations.
Legend of Zelda Link Between Worlds

I was enjoying it a couple of days ago, then I updated to windows 8.1 and for some reason that borked the game for me. I did play enough to highly recommend it to any fence walkers.

Sigh...Now I want to play it again.

Pity. Try checking desktop composition and visual themes on the exe file, maybe compatibility mode for XP or Windows 7 too.
The GOTY for me was Super Mario 3D World. The Last of Us comes in second.
My favorite that I played this year... It is a tie.

System Shock 2 was everything that I had hoped it would be, and more. I remember playing the demo a decade ago, and it has been on my wishlist since. Finally being able to play it was amazing, and I was not let down in any way. It is great all around. There is no such thing as "overhype" with SS2. Easily one of the best games I have ever played.

The other game would be The Witcher 2. Nothing I could say would do it proper justice. I'll just say one thing - it was so amazing that I almost don't want to play it again, out of fear that it might not be as good the second time.
