Facebook annoys me and it annoys me to see it mentioned in all the contest discussions.

In 2007, I created my Facebook account. In 2011, I deleted it. No regrets here :)
I am forced to use it for contests, if i weren't i would never use facebook for personal stuff.
I use it for keeping in touch with people from my home town, the UK and France.

Also, I know a fair few students here who don't have a landline, and it's cheaper for me to contact them by Facebook than to phone or send them an SMS.
Completely pointless waste of space and time
I don't like Facebook for the sole fact that everyone basically knows your entire life story.. but I try to keep that to a minimum and just post funny stuff or interesting stuff.. I also use it to talk to family and close friends..

I HATE Facebook drama
it makes me remember my mothers birthday
it's creepy
Had to set up an account for something, coulda been a free game or dlc, something like that, but I don't use it, sometimes I use my guilds facebook page, that's it for me.
It's good for networking with people you don't usually have contact with but I don't like the privacy issues regarding it so I tend to use it at a minimum, I rather send private messages to people who don't use other stuff rather than post on my wall.
I think that there are two things to keep in mind:
1) facebook itself - I don't give a damn about it, I just don't use this garbage
2) GOG using facebook for contests and this is the issue we want to discuss really. I think it sucks and I don't really understand why we are forced to make fb accounts to take part in contests. We are buying games HERE, we are discussing games HERE, the GOG community is HERE, not on facebook. GOG, what the hell are you doing? :(

Indeed, although I do have a subset of people who want to know how I'm doing from time to time so I do post status updates about how I am etc., but seeing everyone post their entire life stories on Facebook does make me facepalm.

George Takei's Facebook profile is worth subscribing to though - he has some brilliant shit on there, even if he peddles his book a tad too often.

Have you disable it or have you deleted it, i.e. sent a copy of your ID to Irish FB central with formal request? :D

I don't have Facebook account. I don't miss it however I feel it'd be handy to be in touch with ex-coworkers from foreign countries and don't miss friends' spontaneous activities. I hesitate to create a fake account.

And my opinion on Facebook is that it's handy but its privacy policies are disturbing.

I don't mind it, but then I don't use it much either. It's pretty easy to ignore all the crap that can come along with it.

Now twitter, that thing I refuse to touch unless forced to which is good because most people seemed to have moved away from facebook and onto twitter in order to let the world know when they're making their daily bowel movements.
I had an account five years ago for a grand total of 24 hours, then I unregistered. At my last high school reunion, people though I was dead because they couldn't find me on any of the major social networking sites. I don't use any of them. Those who want to reach me know my e-mail and phone number; that's enough.
