It is but I usually tend to play very relaxed games so it's not an issue. Besides I'm after precision and I can control the DPI on-the-fly in case I want it to be faster.

Logitech MX518 with Steelseries Qck. 800 DPI, 6/11 on Windows mouse speed settings, no driver, no acceleration, 125Hz USB poll rate. Though I purchased a Logitech G400 online friday, but I'll probably use the same settings and won't install the driver. G400 has 1000Hz USB poll rate as default, so I might wanna change it if I can't get used to.

CM Storm Sentinel Advance here. No acceleration or smoothing or any of that shit, just low sensitivity and high dpi (4250, although it goes to 5600) when surfing or working, lower for gaming. There are five possible profiles, but I use three; one for almost everything, the second for games where a high horizontal and low vertical dpi are desirable, and the third when I want the LEDs turned off for whatever reason.

True, but in my case, I use an "on the fly" sensitivity switcher, so for those times you have to be really precise, I just lower it, I find ramping acceleration up tends to skip the pointer, or maybe I was just seeing things :P.

For me it goes like this: 3500DPI
Sensitivity on 3 for marksmanship, 5-6 on average, 8 max. for speed (at 3500dpi over this would be too much)
Acceleration OFF

Never really cared about the "DPI value" I just pick what is comfortable for me, but if I believe my mouse (G500) its be 2000 DPI. (But I have the "pointer" speed at the middle/default position so I don't know if it's accurate)

And I usually have acceleration activated.

Actually lower DPI is much better than higher, most progamers (who play games for a living) still use 400 DPI. Ridiculously high amounts like 5000, 6000 are just marketing imho.

Using Logitech SetPoint... For FPS 2500 DPI, 5/10 Speed, 0 Acceleration. Everything else is 1600 DPI 8/10 Speed, 0 Acceleration

I use high dpi to compensate for the low sensitivity. If I use high sensitivity and low dpi, the cursor does a weird spastic excercise where it fails to react to the tiniest movements and teleports several pixels when ushered by a slightly more vigorous nudge. It lacks smoothness, which gets very tiring very fast in general and during precision-heavy tasks in particular.

I don't know, could be just the mouse's software not playing nice with whatever the hell else might affect the cursor, but there is a way to make the cursor move smoothly and I'm going to use it even if programmers and corporate marketing departments would rather I didn't.

There was an article by Logitech employee explaining why low dpi + high ingame sensitivity is better and more stable than high dpi + low sens. but I couldn't find it. Though everyone should use what feels comfortable of course, so these are all personal preferences.

No biggy I suppose, but it seems easier for me to use speed then adjust with DPI to hit a sweet spot.

Differs in a game.. in my mouse there are buttons that make those faster, usually too fast. Nothing to do with my mouse or is that in some inventorys or menus mouse cursor is freaking sluckis but in game like camera angle and such is so fast.

Anyway I have Logitech mx518.. hopefully it's right 'cos I rememered in my head.
And mostly I do use those senitivity senttings in games. (mostly with controller but with a mouse still).

Anyway, every games default things usually sucks a lot.. balls.
