I know we have a lot of Minecraft players here. I also know there is already a Minecraft thread, but that is for discussion of the game itself. This thread is just to show off any interesting things you've built in Minecraft. Preferably in survival mode, since having to work for the materials to build something makes it all the more impressive, and also gives a greater sense of satisfaction once you're done.

I just finished a new building, although it's more of a sculpture. Still, it's hollow, and there are ordinary living accomodations inside. Tell me what you think, and post your own creations.

Don't let the name put you off. There is no comparison possible between the two games. If you want to know what Minecraft really is, I recommend watching this video (and maybe some of the follow-up ones). I watched it, watched the next one, and before I knew it, I'd watched 15 episodes and went and bought the game.
hehe, will post mine somehow later, but with a different game.

We are currently in Alpha Stage of Walkover 2 and the tech demo came out to be like Minecraft, but looking much nicer and has not only blocks ;)

This is my rather more conventional abode. Or at least as much as I can fit into one screenshot. More pics here.

Edit: oh and to be clear about this, the coloured blocks are wool. This isn't built using the browser version. Further edit: except for the black which is obsidian.

Sweet stuff! Built in survival mode or creative?
Minecraft you say?

I'm digging the new update, so I made a peaceful world where I have a garden estate on top of a large hill/almost mountain. You can't see it very well (actually, at all), but there's waterfalls, fountains and future aquariums, along with mini-gardens and one big one, and a balcony and hidden vault.

Oh, and I'll make a bridge that goes to the other mountain in the picture where I'll make a great hall and a hole in the surface and I DON'T KNOW WHAT THEN. :D

But I'd really like to get on the GOG server, but I can't connect...

Well, people have different tastes, and Minecraft certainly can't hit everyone's. So no need to apologize. If it ain't your thing, it ain't your thing, that's all there is to it.

What are you using, a Super Mario texture pack or something?

I opt for peaceful mode because to me the mobs detract from the game. I've tried it several times and despite not having any real difficulty in killing them off or at least avoiding them, it's not what I want to be doing in the game. So I just lose interest fast.

If I wanted a game that focussed on combat then I've got a fuckton of far better options available to me. So I stick to just the creation and exploration aspects of the game.
