Before buying any games (90% of which are GOG!), I immediately turn to the reviews, then check the overall score and the finally, read as many posts as possible. It’s easy to establish the finest games of each genre but I would like to just break off at a tangent and ask for an alternative view of the games.

So rather than saying – my favourite CRPG is Fallout – you may want to focus on "most entertaining dialogue – Fallout conversation between x and y".

Other suggestions: scariest moment, most frustrating, guilty pleasure, laugh out loud, upsetting, satisfying, pixels that you wished were real, annoying character etc… Please feel free to add your own.

Most of these will be buried in various reviews but it’ll be interesting to read which games press which buttons (metaphorically and literally)

I'm a bit confused here (imagine that!). Are you asking what our favorite particular elements of games may be? Or individual gaming experiences that we recall?

My memory is rather short, so I'll have to go for Borderlands 2 example. Or two. Really, that game is brilliant.

So anyway, I was luring 4 mutants hiding in sewers with pizza.
From a very sparsely clothed female with massive breasts, I got a gun which constantly vibrates the controller whether it's pulled out.
I possess a grenade which rains a lot of smaller grenades as it flies by. Not really funny, but certainly entertaining.

Right, there is one thing I will never forget tho, and that thing is "What can change the nature of a man"?

Yeah - I did go on a bit. Both I guess. So favourite moments i.e scariest and/or elements such as annoying character

I get the feeling this is going to fall flat on its face!

Mild spoiler warning, Alan Wake.

There is a quiet annoying minor character and i immediatly thought i wouldn't miss him as soon as he dies and given the genre it was obvious that he would eventually die a horrible death. Although that character didn't change at all during his unexpected long lifespan i grew really fond of him.

Oh, and Alan Wake has the truest metalheads. On the list of people i'd love to have a drink with they are right next to my favorite bands. ;)

Disciples 2. One of the bad guys' campaigns. I had little time left - a couple of turns in fact - to kill some dwarven emissary. The wretch was too damn strong, however fortune smiled on me in the form of a huge and hungry mother of all manticores. I managed to free the beast and get the hell out of its way, for the manticore was inclined to attack the first poor fellow it met. Needless to say, the aforementioned dwarf was the unlucky one. Those tough little devils survived the battle only to be finished off by me.

Star Wars: Republic Commando. Dramatis personae: 4 commando clones and droids. Lots of droids. You must hold the bridge of a starship while decrypting two consoles. Starts easy enough: two clones start working on the consoles, the other two keep up cover fire. But the droids keep coming, the small and funny ones giving way to super battle droids and droidekas. Soon you're out of anti armor ammo. The EMP and frag grenades disappear one by one. Your sniper rifle follows suit, marking the beginning of the end. Your brothers behind the consoles are down, someone has to revive them, only your own shield is blown to bits and the next hit might be your last. The droid wall draws closer still, their fire becomes deafening. Finally, with the rest of the squad incapacitated and your pulse pistol overheating, you manage to finish the decryption process frantically running between the accursed consoles and that pathetic excuse for cover. The droids freeze in their tracks. Curtain. You can wipe the sweat off now.

King of Dragon Pass. Got this game during the Summer Sale. Long story short, a delegation of duck people came to my village demanding the respect they claimed to deserve. A duel was mentioned. I convinced them to agree to one condition: the duel was to be fought to first blood. Assured of the safety of my combatant, I chose my chief to accept the challenge. Bad mistake. My clan leader got split in half. By a duck. The disgrace! For a renowned warrior to kick the bucket like this. The duckman had a prophecy that he would defeat the first opponent he would fight to first blood. This more than anything reminded me of the frailty of my clan's posperity. A valuable lesson.

Diablo 2. I found the Zod rune once. Sapienti sat.

Greatest achievement: Killing Ridley.

I don't know if that is what you are asking for but there you have it. The saddest thing is you'll notice I didn't list it as my greatest gaming achievement but rather greatest achievement period.

I'm not proud. :D

Drawing a map for every scenery of Pool of Radiance, sending them to my fav mag...and than reading in one of the next issues that they couldn't print them because i used a pencil....they even printed my name wrong ;-)

Maniac from Wing Commander was really annoying then, in Wing Commander 3, when it went all FMV suddenly he was played by Biff from Back to the Future, he was still annoying but as it was Biff it seemed to matter less, it was classy!

The last level in Driver was an absolute bitch, when I finally finished it I felt like I could take anything on!

Giving 5 of my guys bows and slings, standing them in a horseshoe then getting the 6th guy, the Cleric, to lure orcs into the ambush made me feel pretty damn smart in Ice Wind Dale

My favorite gaming moment is probably killing Jason in the final battle of Friday the 13th on the old NES.

One gaming moment I really remember is when I was building a custom mission for the first Command & Conquer title and I had some logic that was supposed to deliver reinforcements of a Transport Helicopter and a Mammoth Tank. Because of how the engine worked, what actually happened is the Transport Helicopter appeared and delivered the Mammoth Tank then flew away. Quite funny/wierd to see but not that useful since the Transport Helicopter was somewhat essential for the mission (the mammoth tanks were not)

That is actually really cool. Just getting it work would have been beyond me, the right equipment would have been moot. The only 'game designer' I was ever able to work with was Lode Runner and a monkey could use that one.
