F4LL0UT: Yeah, as far as I know this cartridge was included with pretty much any European Atari 2600. Some models (not sure if revisions of the 2600 or other ones) actually had the games from this cartridge embedded into the console itself.

Oh man, I just remembered the procedure of switching games. It was so friggin' awesome. You could only go in one direction and only by switching the console off and on. There's nothing quite like trying to quickly get to a specific game on that cartridge and accidentally skip it one or two times. Whenever I close my eyes I still hear the white noise going on and off, on and off, on and off... good times.
i remember mine being the junior
and it came with the 32 in 1 cardridge quite basic games but quite fun too if you ask me

course it sbeen years since i played any of them

timppu: I fondly recall the pre-digital, mechanical video games. Besides pinball machines of course, there were those arcade games where a coin would give a certain time to e.g. shoot moving tiny plastic tanks that you saw through the fake binoculars, or images of sharks which were projected to the screen, moving around.

The first proper electronic arcade game I recall seeing was Space Invaders, and the first home video game was some sort of Pong console that my filthy rich uncle's family had (our family was so poor that we couldn't possibly have a technological marvel like that).
Yeah, thanks for reminding me on these pinball machines...i forgot to mention them!!! Most probably i was like 3-4 yrs old back then when they were so popular...

First game I saw played was some horse racing game on an amber screened monitor (the commodore 64 probably). I was about three at the time.

The first game I played was Golden Axe, followed shortly after by the Secret of Monkey Island within a month of each other I think.

I can't remember which was first:

Pyramid 2000 on the TRS-80. Ahhh the joys of loading games from a cassette!

Or

Snafu on an Intellivision. I definitely played more games on the Intellivision than the TRS-80 - Lock N Chase, Auto Racing, Horse Racing, Burger Time Astrosmash, Motocross ... That thing was awesome!

i never ever did that
nor did i play games from floppies ( both kinds ) i went directly to cardridges and from there on to cd's

do i need to have my gamer card revoked nao ?

Oh yeah, mine was as well. I always forget that it was called "junior". Oh man, that smell when it got warm... just awesome. I think next time I visit my parents for Christmas I'm actually going to grab my Atari 2600. :D

This is really hard to remember since I was really young, but some memory flashes leads me to believe that it was the first Mario Bros. but on a knock off/clone console.

Probably Pong. I never owned it, though. The first gaming system I got was an Odyssey 2. I had baseball, a racing game, and "K.C. Munchkin" which was their Pac-man ripoff.

hm, hard to answer


I had access to games already in school, so if you consider that "my first games" it must be a tie between Lemmings, Golden Axe, and SimCity

My first actually owned game was like the OP, in my case also a whole cardboard box of games for C64, everything was second hand including the C64 itself, I don't recall the game names on it anymore however.

When I was of the age 11 I got my first actual PC, the monitor was still black and white but I didn't mind it. The first game I bought for it, and in fact was the very first game I bought for myself at all was Command & Conquer, the very first, original one, with Joe (Kane) being his best as Kane, and a bit later I managed to get me a color monitor too so I was able to see Kane blow Seth's mind in delicious colorful pixelicious art.

I am more of an RPG/Adventure preferring player, but C&C (and later Europa Universalis) made me also fall in love with Strategy.

Me too. I was always bad at those reflex games. My favorites were , [url=http://www.freekong.org/welcome.php]Donkey Kong, & Q*Bert.
I stank at them all, but I loved those bloops and bouncing bright colors. lol

Defender for the Atari 2600, it came as pack-in game with the console. That was back in 1986 when i was 12.

I'm pretty sure it was Steel Panthers III, but I was four or five at the time, so my memory may not serve me.
