Yeah, it never occured to me that people could actually have various settings. :P
Just remembered the first video game my brother ever played (years before I was born): it was Moon Patrol on an arcade cabinet.
One of those Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt combinations cartridges for the NES. Good times, good times.
My first game ever was Space Invaders on the Atari 2600. I'm not counting Combat. I refuse! :P
My first PC game was a point and click adventure game based on Stephen King's The Dark Half.
Man, I had so much fun playing that game that I spent the 90's playing every point 'n' click adventure I could find.
The first time I ever played a computer game was at my aunt's house, she had Defender and Ghostbusters loaded on some type of PC with a black and white screen. They didn't make much of an impression on me at the time. Sometime later I played Adventure and thought it was so cool to explore a world and make a map. Then I played Space Quest and there was no going back.
'twas F-Zero on SNES. I remember my Dad bringing home a SNES with F-Zero and Super Mario World as a surprise. The whole family took turns playing.
It was when it launched in 1991, so I would have been 3 years old. It's not only my first game, it is my first memory.
Doom 1, PC, 2000

I was 10 years old.

My first game on my first PC :)
For me it was batman for the nes
Tomb Raider on the PSOne, the first in the series. Fantastic game and one that has made me an addict ever since.
Asteroids on the Atari 2600.
