Michael Fassbender just for his bilingual coolness.
And Samuel L. Jackson for his outright motherfuckin' coolness.

Hmmm.
Probably Christian Bale and Tilda Swinton.
But I'm not really a movie watcher so those opinions are based on very few performances.

Not into establishing favourites. Just (well known) actors I admire for their ability across a number of different roles. People that can actually act, rather than being stars (i.e. Brad Pitt always is Brad Pitt no matter what movie he appears in).
Cate Blanchett - not for the hollywood stuff, but all the indie productions. Most straightforward example is "Cousins" in Coffee and Cigarettes (she acts both characters): http://vimeo.com/18647934
Naomi Watts been pretty much excellent in anything she's been in.
Frances McDormand - one of those actors that people just pass by as she's a proper actor rather than a star. Again the more indie productions really show her range / ability.
Willem Dafoe. So, so, so underrated.
Benicio Del Toro. Here, too, the less Hollywood productions allow him to show ability.
Sean Penn (grudgingly though - don't like the person, can accept that he's doing a good job acting wise, often).

Jim Carrey. He will never be fully respected because of his early work (much of which was enjoyable to fans of that type of comedy), but I like people with range.
He can do slapstick better than just about anyone (mask, Ace ventura, D&D)
He can do family oriented middle road comedies like (Liar Liar, Truman Show, Bruce Almighty)
He can do the more serious stuff (Majestic, Simon Birch)
And he can do horror (Number 23)
And no matter what role... hes absolutely amazing. While I respect other actors to varying degrees, a great many of them "act" the same character in everything they do. (in a sense, they are mostly themselves, even some of the very good ones). Jim Carey is one of the few that stands out and REALLY becomes something different in each of his films.

Well, there is a lot of western actors mentioned in this topic (mostly american and English)! I guess we all watch too many American films! :) I'd say Tony Leung and Gong Li.

Yes. The first part, didn't bother with the second. I didn't like the movie much. It's plot structure was too obviously trying to imitate the typical expectations of a hollywood movie (including somewhat forced romance). I'd so much preferred a more documentary like attempt - not necessarily in aesthetics, but in just sticking as closely to Che's life, based on as many actual facts and as unedited as possible.

My favorite actor would probably be Bruce Willis, Sylvester Stallone, or Clint Eastwood. It's really hard for me to decide.
My favorite actress is Chloe Moretz especially after seeing Let Me In. She has an extremely bright future ahead of her.

Willem Dafoe would probably be my favourite actor. Apart from that, Gary Oldman, Christian Bale, Leonardo Dicaprio. All males though, hm. Not too sure about actresses.
Also Les Dennis because he was legendary on Extras.
