It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Yawn.
Have you tried not using the downloader and downloading directly from your browser instead?
email the gog devs directly

stevenhwood: What good is buying the games if you can't download them.

And praise to the gods that we can still download them without the buggy downloader!
They haven't answered me back about Blood performance problems since day one of its release. Since day one. Duke and the Descent games run great...if you use the community ports that is. The downloader sucks, I agree and they haven't answered me back about this problem as well.

My point is yes the downloader sucks any and everyone who has used it knows it. Yes I down load with windows. The point is customer service is null, and Merchandise sites like this that do very little advertising rely on the customer’s word of mouth. When I write an email no one responded but in less than an hour I had no less than five responses. Word of mouth can destroy or make a company. If enough customers say you have a downloader fix it. It will get fixed. The fact that I can download using windows shouldn’t even have been brought into the discussion. Fix the Downloader that’s what the customers want.
If I offer a downloader on my site to make it easier for my customers, then I think I would make sure it works. How long has this site been up, I have seen some post dating 2007. Come on it's a downloader and your programmers.
Leave the gods out of this they didn't code the GOG Downloader. You mean after all these years windows has a downloader. I'm so glad you were here.

stevenhwood: Yes, I'm doing that, but that's not the point.

If you can download perfectly fine via your browser, then you're not really having a problem, are you? So I don't really understand why you're getting so upset at not having any response from support.
How about being a little more patient while people with more pressing issues have those addressed first.
No offense and all but you're the only person I know of that hasn't been able to get the downloader working. Some people have had trouble downloading, but GOG has resolved issues like this relatively quickly and helped people as much as they could. I assume your issue is user end.

GOG is based in Poland, so they aren't going to reply in an instant. And yes, the downloader is pretty shitty-- we know. Just use your browser.

Ok...
I'm in a place where the power, internet, mortar attacks and all kinds of other things affect my downloading speed. I use the downloader and sure it may not be the best thing since sliced bread, I have yet to have serious issues other then the downloader being stuck in minimized mode.
Perhaps being patient with the staff, and as you said you can download the games via your browser.
You are correct, they could work on it. However, just because a site offers a feature you do not need to use it. I mean, my inbox can get spammed but that doesnt mean I should go clicking on every ad to buy meds now does it?
They have gotten back to every request for support I have made, in time. You have to have some patience, remember they are in Poland.
Based on what a pure delight this guy is to people here, I can't POSSIBLY imagine why his emails go unanswered. I'm sure he's just a prince in those...

stevenhwood: Dude, I’m an American,

North, South or African?
Just because you are "American" does not really mean shit to a company from Poland now does it?
I know that the fact you are an "American" just makes you seem all the more lil a whinny child..... asking for everything now.....
My apoligizes to the rest of the world..... Not all of us "Americans" are horrid... I assure you.
(Even me, lol I know I have my days.)
First, I'd like to apologize for my countryman's behavior, not all of us are this... tempermental.
Okay, I have dial-up, DIAL-UP!! and I'm fortunate enough to have the downloader work for me! It took a week, but thanks to the downloader, I managed to get a game over my home connection! :-)
You can download using your browser, I believe the GoG staff has said that your browser is the preferred method. The downloader is an alternative for people like me that don't have the most stable or fast connections, and, for me at least, it serves its purpose marvelously.
