SerpentineCougar: Are you allowed to buy multiple copies of the bundle? (ie. to give to friends)
For different emails? For sure.

Catshade: Another thing to consider is Mac and Linux version of the games; HIB stats shows again and again that Mac and Linux gamers are more generous with their purchase than Windows gamers.

Foxhack: I tweeted to them that they should've had a minimum $1 donation. People are donating a penny, those bastards shouldn't get a single thing.
It's pay what you want, how come you are a bastard if you paid a penny?

Agreed. There has been enough data from the HIBs in particular to see the way people tend to pay for these things, and they could've implemented a minimum amount... it's not like PWYW is a new concept nowadays.

They're losing money on -every- transaction.

So yes, it pisses me off. You want to be a cheapskate? Fine. But don't make them lose money.

It's a business decision; they went pay what you want, they are fully aware of transaction costs.
You don't know what I paid.
To protect themselves, they really should put a minimum of $1. That way they at least cover their costs and make a small amount. I guess they really want to go head to head with Humble.

spindown: The average purchase is just $1.40, that's really low compared to the Humble Bundle.
The latest HIB average is around 4 dollars, but don't forget that the top 10 contributors spent 250 to 1250 dollars for the bundle, which should pull up the average considerably. In comparison, the current top contributor in Indie Gala only gave 55 dollars.

Gyrocoptor: Every time I turn around, there's another one of these things.

... I'm still buying it.
No, I have far too many games I've never played already. Passing on this.

About $0.04.

(10*((250+1250)/2))/190000
(top 10 people)X(average of 250 and 1250)/number of sales

I just did the calculation and the combined effect of the top 10 on the average is 2.74 cents.
Wow, I actually got my Steam keys before I got my Paypal receipt. Now that's service!
Linux gamers and mac gamers are more generous only because of one thing. There's a little amount of purchases.

It's obvious that the more purchases the less is average.

But!

Small avg price on indie gala may be a result of several things:
a) it's a new bundle
b) there's no "extra prize" for paying more than average

c) no one advertises it
d) all those big guys giving thousands of bucks to humblebundle are not there.

e) Steam-only. If the Steam forums are any indication of the average Steam user then most people are paying $0.01 and trading the keys for TF2 hats.
