Weclock: I seriously think half-life is over-rated. the engine is brilliant though.
gordon freeman isn't even all that great.

I think it's overrated as well, but it's still one of my favorite games, and I feel like I can come back to it whenever. And yes, the engine is awesome. It doesn't require insane PC specs, yet it looks great, and it's somewhat easy to use for those budding game creators out there.
Got it from the Orange Box promotion on Steam. Played all of them, really enjoyed them a lot. Now, all that I need is a 64bits OS to run the FakeFactory Cinematic Mod 10...
I have most of the Half Life games except the episode pack.
Unfortunately, I will be waiting for the Orange Box promotion and hopefully I won't miss it this time.
Well, I have all the HL games apart from the source port of HL1, which I gather is not much to bother with.
Already purchased games for the week, so a skip here.
Bah, there's no sale for Portal.... -_-;

Well, it's DOOM 2.0, and that's enough to garner major love right there.

I agree. I have played and beaten HL2, HL2ep1 and HL2ep2 (I almost never beat any games). I also have the original HL installed on my pc now. So I guess based on that, it would appear like I am a pretty big Half Life fan. In actuality though, I just have played and beaten the games because I got them for cheap, and the HL2 games are for the most part short and easy. I DO like the games, but I'm not creaming my jeans at the idea of playing HL2 ep3 right away.
And I don't agree with Freeman being the top character at all

Technically it's Quake 2.0.
Half Life and it's sequels have been surpassed *many* times. Stalker, Bioshock, Fallout 3, and several others have taken the crown repeatedly. That being said, they are worth playing at this price for almost anyone that likes FPS/Adventure games.

Gordon freeman has the depth of a puddle of piss on a hot sidewalk, and JC Denton owns his ass any day of the week.

Prator: You know, I'm starting to think that there's really no point to buying ANYTHING at full price on steam. All of their products go on sale if you're patient...

You get that impression but it's not exactly true. When THQ had its week-long sale this week I was hoping STALKER might show up just because I've been on a Halloween kick and virtually anything horror or lovecraftian would fill the need. Unfortunately, despite this being THQ's third sale in so many months, the game still wasn't on sale, along with a few other niches of the THQ catalogue, if you excuse buying the whole thing. Heck, they put Red Faction on sale and the Red Faction preorder deal was out for months.
Oh well. I'm getting used to the fact that absolutely no one is going to have a Halloween promotion until the week of.
If next time Gordon Freeman won by 100%, what would that mean?

Cool as it would be to get Half-life for FREE, I doubt we'd be that lucky.

Rohan15: Got the Half-Life anthology and Half-Life 2 during the Steam Sale...See=

I actually got the HL1 Anthology just for registering an old copy of Blue Shift with Steam.

I meant spiritually, not technically.
