Just sayin'.

Heh, a buddy of mine gave me a bottle of Stronachie 12 year old, and I believe I'm going to apply myself to a bit of that this evening.

Orcishgamer, I figure you'll drop by this thread at some point (since it has the word 'scotch' in the title). You ever tried this one?
I'll be over in a jiffy.
Sounds like this party can use some ch-ch-chili... ON MY WAY!

Excellent! Pick up some hot wings on your way over.

Oooh, and chili! Yeah, that's cool.

Hot wings...with SCOTCH?

You sir, you are a monster. That scotch aged for 12 good years, and you're going to use it to wash down hot wings. That's just evil.

Who said I'm going to drink while I eat the wings? That just wrong. Scotch is meant to be enjoyed all by itself. I'm not that much of a heathen. I'm just hungry right now. :)

Perhaps I'll whip up some Grey Poupon wings.
Fucking hell. I would need that.

Was at a pizzeria today. The witty, charming and impossibly beautiful waitress had odd markings on her arm. I finally asked her what it was. She just told me that a very close friend of hers had died, so she got tatooed the handwriting of a sentence of the last letter she had recieved from her.

Having people like that on my planet makes me feel inadequate. I need a scotch.
My father drinks Macallan and Cragganmore single malt scotch. Now that's some good alcohol.

No, lately I've been addicted to Aberlour 16 year cask poured (which is 60% ABV instead of 40% but goes does smooth)! I'm not sure which batch the bottle I was drinking was from, but my local liquor store has batch #40 in stock. To give you an example, after a few glasses of that at a bar I figured I'd step down to Macallan 12 year single as I was pretty buzzed and it was extremely rough by comparison.

Macallan has a 25 year I think, I need to find a way to get a glass of that (I'm sure I'll pay dearly for it).

Let me know how you like the Stronachie and I may pick up a bottle with your recommendation.

Enjoy your scotch!

I'm a bit surprise TET doesn't show up more often when we start talking about scotch:)

EDIT: because I can't spell Macallan apparently.

That is a fucking awesome story!

While I largely agree with you, a man can live on scotch alone, some people still hold onto eating actual food in addition to drinking:)

Okay, in that case it's all good. :)

I've never had Stronachie. Let us know if it's any good. Agree with others that Macallan is pretty much the pinnacle of greatness.

See my post, unless you're drinking Macallan 25 year exclusively the Aberlour 16 year cask pours are really, really nice.
Okay, I just went to the liquor store and dropped over 100 bucks... it is this thread's fault... but it was for scotch, so good investment!

Okay, I'm pretty bad at describing flavors. More the kind of "I know what I like" type, but this one's not too bad. Wouldn't make my list of top favorites, but it's a nice smooth scotch that has a good mix of fruity flavors along with some spiciness as well. A hint of smoke? Peat? Something along those lines. Quite a nice finish though, with the flavor lingering for some time.

Doesn't come close to my old standby, Laphroaig, but I'm a real fan of those peaty Islay malts (Ardbeg, Lagavulin, Laphroaig).

I'm intrigued with the Aberlour. May have to see if I can find it up here.
Was about to ask orcishgamer over to this thread, but I see you boys have already made yourselves comfortable.
