As you see you can pay here by paypal, cc and debit cards, paysafecard. Just do a 'test run' and buy few $5.99 game using methods available and see which one is cheapest for you. It's important because different banks (if you are going to pay with cards) add extra charges/fees/provisions and those are beyond GOG.com control.

Depends on the game. For the really big ones, using the downloader can be a good idea, because it allows you to pause the download and resume it at a later time. For anything under 2 GB, I'd just download it through the browser, as long as you have a reliable internet connection.
