I think I wait with playing my backers copy until the beta test is over. :)

soulitter: I know from forum posts Steam version crashes a lot for numbers reasons.
I have 48 hours on my Steam version and I'm pretty sure it hasn't crashed once. It can certainly be very stable, not sure what's making it crash for the people that say it.

I noticed my normal ironman run was getting crashed always but easy ironman runs without crashes though sometimes some buttons like base and intercept wont work unless a reload but thas a minority so far.
Capeed 8 hours and 1 and half was normal ironman.
How is the combat in the urban areas? Do the bullets and other projectiles shoot through certain material types like glass? Also how is the A.I. been in your experience? I watched a overview of the current alpha/beta of the game and the person demonstrated that the A.I. does not seem smart enough yet to pose a challenge to the player. The overview also stated the A.I. likes to run and huddle in the corners of the map making it like a game of tag where your it and got to chase them down.

I have been keeping my eyes on it ever sine they showed it off a year or so ago and have become curious how it has turned out so far.
The AI is still rudimentary at the moment because their original AI guy disappeared at some point. They got a new one but only recently, it should improve over time.

Pretty sure you can shoot through glass. I'd say there's a lack of variety in maps at the moment but then again it's moddable and there's already a community map pack or two so that's not really a problem.

Their original A.I. guy left? Well that sucks hopefully the replacement can clean up his coding and get the ball rolling. Was hoping there would be a active modding community for the game, good to hear there is. Thanks for some light on the A.I. situation.
Just played the latest experimental build. It's really well-made. With some really neat mods in the works like kabill's destructible hulls, this will probably be my GOTY of 2014.
According to their website this should see its final release version tomorrow or thereabouts if there haven't been any delays. I'm curious to see how this one will turn out.

Well, thats interesting.
That game does look interesting! Here is the wishlist.
So Arcturus I saw the thread bump and admit I haven't been following this one at all... but from giving the first page and a random middle page of this thread I get the gist of it being an XCOM like research/tacticalcombat/??? game. Without reading all 7 pages of this thread (I've just gotten home and am a bit lazy ;) ) what state is the game in and when can release be expected? Also, GOG?

Actually I've only learned of this game recently. But you're right; it's supposed to be very similar to X-COM (another game I have to try sometime). It's apparently released on Steam now, but I don't know if it will be on GOG.
Thanks for the reply! Yay for knowing it's out, fingers crossed that it ends up here if it is indeed like XCOM. And shame on you for never having played it! I'd ask if your PC had a 3.5 drive and begin packing up a media envelope so you could experience the wonder that is XCOM, but then I'd have to go through the whole "my own cold, dead hands" bit ;)

*edit* And thanks for the wishlist link - voting now!

Wow, they are finally releasing the final version. The beta stage has been going for years.
Will GOG like go back on their decision and add this to the catalogue?
