I think there's nothing you can do but wait at the moment, but I imagine they should be showing up soon. I doubt they'll forego digital preorders alltogether.

So here we have the confirmation it will not be available DRM free also.
At least GOG should arrange a release of the original in order to honor the moment.

It's Good that it's the people who made civilization and alpha centauri who are making this as they understand classic computer gaming from personal experience.

Is it really them, though, because that was a long time ago. Their recent game civ4:col took 4 years of fanpatching to become a worthy successor to colonization, fans just released The Authentic Colonization 2.03 final.

After watching that gameplay demo I'm really interested. I think I'll buy the xbox version as I don't think I have a PC to match the hardware requirements. Though I'll wait after the release and see what the early buyers say. It's hard to match such a classic as X-COM.

Unfortunately it looks like you'll miss some if you're not ordering retail:

"Will there be a digital deluxe edition? Can I get similar content on Steam?
The Special Edition and its content is exclusive to retail."

What's included in the PC Special Edition?
In addition to the game, the PC Special Edition includes:

Fold out poster of the XCOM base
Art book detailing the conceptual journey of the re-imagining of the classic
Patch of the XCOM "Vigilo/Confido" insignia
Digital bonus items including multi-monitor desktops, soundtrack, and more
Looks like the Preorder/Launch bonus is a safe bet with the Steam versions though:

Launch edition copies (all platforms) will include the Elite Soldier Pack. The pack includes:

Classic X-COM Soldier: Receive a new recruit in their Barracks inspired by the original X-COM: UFO Defense. The blonde, flattop hairstyle will return in its full glory, modernized with the rest of the XCOM universe.
Soldier Deco packs: Customize their soldier with several aesthetic upgrades to armor suits including the new Hyperion and Reaper soldier armor kits
Complete color customization: A variety of colors and tints for all armor sets in the game allow complete control to customize your squad's look.

If I purchase on Steam or digitally, will I still get the bonus?
Yes, the bonus will be available for pre-sales and during a very limited period around launch.

No but seriously, this game seems to be shaping up into something great. I definitely didn't expect it to look as good as it's looking after seeing the first few screenshots. To be honest, it looked kinda "meh" after the first few screenshots.
