Hello, I usually play games on console but I have really been wanting to play some games on the PC! Ok can I attach my Xbox 360 controller up and play these games? If I can do I have to program in the keys or anything? If you know some information please post it here! Thanks in advance!
Well natively I don't think the old games will (duh), for example DOS games. But I would assume the newer ones like PoP or Far Cry will be 360-controller compatible if you map the keys out with software. Come to think of it, the DOS ones probably will too.

I've never used it myself but I've heard good things about Xpadder
I don't think any game on GoG will automatically detect the 360 controller. At least, not like a GfW game does.
That being said, many of the games support gamepads in general, and the 360 controller will work for those with minimal effort. You may have difficulty using the analog shouldery things, but so be it.
Anything beyond that, grab a program like XPadder and just map the controller to keyboard/mouse buttons.
If you mean ALL PC games, then all Games for Windows titles (except Bioshock 2...) have native Xbox controller support, so its just plug and play. There are also some non-GfW titles that do like Prince of Persia. Check game pages and boxes and such for those. Keep in mind you need the wireless adapter if you don't already have it.
For GOGs, some support it. You'd have to set it up in the game's menu. Alternately, you can use Xpadder as aliasalpha suggested. The newer versions cost money but there's old free versions which function well too.

That is actually incorrect. Not all GfW games have support for the 360 controller. I think the requirement is that, if gamepads are supported, they need to include a profile for the 360 controller.
