You need a receiver IIRC, the charge cord, just charges. Which greatly annoyed me, because I could borrow a wireless controller, but had to buy one since my computer couldn't connect to it.

Doh, I got that backwards, I was still thinking about the XBox controller. The PS3 controller shouldn't have any trouble connecting via the USB cable.

EDIT: I guess the wrinke there is getting the drivers, but it looks like you figured that out. I'm not sure how Windows knows that it's a joystick, but needs drivers anyways.

I've only tried it with a single 3-axis analogue joystick, using the hat switch for vertical & horizontal strafe and the throttle for the, um, throttle but it works really well. I'm very tempted to get a second stick.

Well sir.. this is matter of taste. I played indeed with ps-controller.. for eternity. no I say.. if it feels good, why not use it? I have transferredt to xbox-controller. I hate the firm and I hate all that it stands for. but some games truly are good. and I (yes, I'm old as shit) I like when some games support that freajibg controller. As said in past. witcher 1.. never think that I would play that with controller. W2 It indeed feels like it would meant to be in controller.

Same thing with crysis 1.
I love witcher one.. effects will last and it felt I got better.. ptopably W2 is a good game but it's pretty muvh impossible to surpass the first one, =)
Nowadays if you read net.. everything is consolized. well DA2 was shite.. firsrt one was epic and legend. And claudia black as morrican.. indeed it was good. W1 still comes in my top five. I don't like inventory but nevertheless.. it is good and my brother today.. well yeasterfay started to say good is that. well.. I fucking know.

And edit: I like crysis 2 this far. Not perfect but a good game. I could waste my time worse.

Edit: there is propably some point. But I like to be drunk and controversial. Witcher was mostly the first game that said "there is no wrong, you should be protecting elfs and dwarfs."

It would be easier to target with mouse in crysis 2 but I love those aimsystems, when they are off. (I can die if i'm not careful) crysis 2 not gonna surpass first one and I think it's same thing with witcher. I just love the first one.

I'm a weird gamer. I'm not fond of the Dual Shock pad. I think it comes down to the placement of the analogs (I don't like that both are on the bottom), and the four triggers on top. It's never felt natural to me.

I personally prefer the Xbox 360 pad, Gamecube, and even some Dreamcast controllers to it. The layouts of those feel more natural to me.

It's the mismatch between the product and the controller. The PS3 debut at $600 and was marketed for serious gamers, but the controller itself was one that was clearly intended for children's hands that really got me. That and the arrogance to suggest that there wasn't anything wrong with the controller. I can sort of get them bundling it with the console and not being willing to create separate bundles with different controllers, but insisting that there's nothing wrong with it is sort of a WTF situation.

I'm sure it is fine and even great for some people, but when you're trying to sell a console for and to adults, the controller had better be size appropriate to adult hands.

But then again, I felt the same way about iPods until they came way down in price to the point where it was reasonable to consider them for children.

It would be great if I got some money.. well what ever firm I worked for. =)
Just a gamer and I like that there sometimes is an option.
I play games with mouse and KB but it's always nice to see that if gameplay supports it, it's good to have an option.
And WTF is I-pod? =)

I use a Razer Onza TE. It is a natural extension of the greatest gamepad ever made, it's wired (no dealing with stupid batteries), and it's automatically recognized as soon as you plug it into the PC.

iPod? I assume you're kidding, they're the world's best selling MP3 players. Personally, I dislike them on account of them being lousy, but people like their shiny Apple gizmos.

If I played flightsims.. and I someday might. it would be awesome to get some feedback from my controller (as in.. "we are going down, everybody, you have right to panic and I cannot hold us in air much longer".)
In playstation one (before it came one) it was great that I tried original gran turismo with that thing (well, there's a difference with stealing) you know pedals and that wheel (I tested those things, it was my job.. and take responsibility if some toaster or coffeemaker electrocuted someone). It was great experience. nowadays I miss that bastard controllerthingy but with pad which has rumblething.. those games don't suck so hard. =)

There was epic pinball which had android. those were the days.. well, one must fall-fighting game, that was also good for it's time.
