The X games (at least 2 & 3, I never found 1) aren't really that hard. They're complex and you have to pay attention but they're quite accessible if you do.

TheEnigmaticT: And before you go nuts, that's from my personal games collection, not necessarily from GOG's upcoming games list.
I like how you managed to make a disclaimer into a tease as well
I'm definitely looking forward to x4. There aren't many games for which I can say I played them for hundreds of hours:)

TheEnigmaticT: Reeeeealy? I've been thinking about buying the X series for more than a year now. I should go Google it.
Ive been a hardcore X fan since Threat... if you want the entire shebang get the X-Superbox its on steam gamers gate, retail from online its amazing and its a great step into the X series...

BTW that trailer made me cry blood...

For all the X heads out there what Joystick do you use for flight? Ive been Mouse and keyboard for 4 years now, how abot you guys?

Id love to have a nice joystick but i cant seem to find out without a "hitch" im looking for one with smooth movement on all axises... Ive tried the Logitech Extreme 3D pro (tried and returned 4).... and the Saitek X52 (tried and returned 5 for broken missing LED's and axis hitches)

im curious about the Thrustmaster T.Flight.... but damn do i ever wish Microsoft still made there Sidewinders... they were the best without question joystick ever designed in the history of sticks...

The Sidewinder joystick was sex on a stick.
I use a logitech extreme 3d pro stick and x45 throttle, good combo, you get the throttle and not have the shitty stick associated with the x45

Since you asked, I have the T.Flight (not the HOTAS variety), and it is a fine joystick. But it is much cheaper than the X52. It feels good in my hands, but that is very subjective.

Maxxer: I really want to know if egosoft is really just 20 employees

20... And they make a MASSIVE game like this

EDIT: i think its gonna be easyer than X3TC to play coz on the deep silver site it says
Gameplay, controls and UI are redesigned from scratch

nondeplumage: I'd be amazed if they didn't hire outhouse for the 3D modeling, concept art, character designs (are there any actual characters in this series?). Wouldn't that free up a lot of time for the game play aspect itself?
Not actual moving characters in the series just a little box at the right with some 3d image of the face your talking to with. :P

Had I a hat, I would take it off to you sir
I'm currently playing X3:TC with the Cyborg Fly 5 joystick that I bought about 6 months ago, and it's still going strong so I fully recommend that stick. I then set up a custom control profile so that my POV HAT switch controls strafing instead of POV, making dogfights much more user friendly.

I'm really excited for X Rebirth as the series is easily my favourite over the long run, although I am a little worried where the trailer mentions "dozens of hours of gameplay". The beauty of the X series is that they are basically plot-optional sanbox games, and I would be a little disappointed if Rebirth was 'streamlined' and more linear. Given Egosoft's record though, I am hoping my fears are unfounded.
