chautemoc: Oh....my god...
On the bright side, if a service like Impulse which has been around a couple years about and is established is ripping off GOG, that probably bodes well for GOG's future. :P

Nah, someone will soon post something in the lines of "hai guyz i just found dis new gog place dat looks like they copyed impulses homepaeg word4word cant they thikn of an orginial dizign?". Then rumour will spread of how gog is so bad they can't even create an original home page, that the rumour is false doesn't really matter much when it comes to the internet.
Hahaha Impulse looks like some alpha version of GOG : ).Completely identical layout, only much uglier.

Trilogy: They are indeed similar, but I don't think they copied GOG with any bad intentions.

sure, they did it with "good intentions" ;-). like all the competitors always do, because they care and want spread some one else ideas, yes? :D.
this whole thing reminds me of the quote i'v heard some time ago: if you cant innovate you just imitate. but it's never quite as good as the original :D
btw, have you guys checked catalogue/expore pages:
http://www.gog.com/en/catalogue/
http://www.impulsedriven.com/explore/featured
i recommend openning these in tabs and switching between, nice fun ^_^
I like that they show game prices in our local currency - something Steam is not able to do for years and instead of it pisses me off with some meh €.
And to the layout - yeah it looks similar, I wouldn't ugly (because it's very similar to GOG :D )

So true...

Miaghstir: ...that the rumour is false doesn't really matter.

A little fix. I apologise, sorrow of being of the same species as those people sometimes gets to my head
I still think they both are taking lots of things from http://www.apple.com/trailers/
Top bar, search, those sorting buttons... And still, I think it's completely OK. Why change something that works into worse just to be different? GOG probably didn't invent their layout from ground zero and it was more or less influenced with some leading sites on usability. Impulse has taken the same route. Still, it doesn't look as sleek as GOG page but I can use it without any hesitations because I know already how the page layout will work and where do the links take me. I cannot say the same thing about those 2 pages I bashed earlier (using Flash videos as links is quite questionable with the page looking like a rollercoaster... with passengers puking...).
Man, that site's such a horrible mess. The prices are in GBP only, but the sale prices are in USD. As are pricing options in the side menu.
Dicks....Get your own idea!

lowyhong: Now if only Impulse will copy GOG's virtual shelf, I'll be happy as Punch.

If you buy Delicious Library you can put everything you own on that shelf.

Only applicable to Mac users though... now where were that discussion we had about such programs? There were some similar ones for Windows. (I'll try finding it)
EDIT: Ah, there it is.

Wow, lots of hostility in this thread.
The people at CD Projekt and Stardock have similiar philosophies vis-a-vis DRM and consumer rights. I see no reason for bickering.

wow.
It's like they've pretty much scraped as much of GOG as they could. Look at the bottom page of GOG and Impulse. They both have the same Find Us links (in the same order). I mean, if it weren't for the white background, I'd have thought GOG was selling Demigod.
