niniendowarrior: Played this one as well. This game is basically a reskinned arcade-tuned version of TNA Impact. I'm pretty sure the game uses the same engine and are likely from the same Midway developers. It's not bad, but to me it doesn't compare to the N64 classics at all.

If you want a throw back to the old N64 classics, I'd be putting these games:
* WWE Day of Reckoning 1 & 2
* Ultimate Muscle Legends vs New Generation
* Wrestle Kingdom

ChaunceyK: Almost a year to the day, but I've decided to try Day of Reckoning...I had a chance to play it and I think I could really enjoy it. Is there any way to play it with the standard Wii controllers (the stick-like ones) rather than the classic (the ones that looked like N64 and PS)?
I'm not sure I understand your question. Day of Reckoning 1 and 2 are Gamecube games so they require the Gamecube controllers and wouldn't work with any of the Wii controller types.

I have a Wii, and Wii consoles are backward-compatible to play GC games. So I guess the better way to phrase my question is: Are all the GC buttons on a Wii controller?

You must have the old Wii console as the new Mini ones don't have GC compatibility. The GC games REQUIRE the GC controller. When the console boots a GC game, the system goes into GC mode and shuts off all Wii components, so your Wii remote cannot operate. There's a flap on the top of your Wii console for your GC controllers. Like this:

AND... GC games require the GC memory card. It cannot and will not use the Wii storage. So, a little bit of shopping to go for all your Gamecube goodness!

As far as a straight comparison -

GC controllers have:
A, B, X, Y, L, R, Z, Start
Analog Stick
D-Pad
C-Stick

Wiimote(+Nunchuk):
A, B, C, Z, 1, 2, +, -, Home
Analog Stick
D-Pad

I'm pretty sure GC games require a proper Gamecube controller to play, even on the Wii, but I can't verify that personally.

Yep. I've played my Wii console many times to know this. Wii games can pick up the Gamecube controller if it supports it, but Gamecube games cannot use the Wii remote controller (and all the attachments: nunchuck, classic controller, etc).
Excellent, thank you very much. :-)
