orcishgamer: Damn, I hate social media but I might make an exception this time, link?

Delixe: @curtHendzell on obviously twitter.com.
Holy crap how does one even follow a thread on that shit?

Yeah, okay, now I recall why I don't do Twitter, thanks for the reminder.

You use something like TweetDeck to manage it. The main twitter page is unmanageable.

Oh yeah, I accidentally clicked on an ad for that by mistake while trying to navigate that mess. I suppose I might try it, but when I think of Twitter I can't get this kind of person out of my head (someone I don't want to be):

Navagon: Personally I welcome our new Gamestop overlords. I've got no experience with the company but I don't see how they could be worse. When it comes down to it there's a fair chance that they'll be a lot less outright xenophobic than Stardock and perhaps a bit more interested in stopping publishers doing whatever the fuck they like to their customers.

Possibly. But like I said it's not about to get a lot worse for non-US customers.

OmegaX: It appears to be official. It's unlikely that Sins and Elemental will go to other DD sites because Stardock is keeping their IPs. I wonder what will happen to the development of the Impulse API that would compete with Steam.
avatar
Navagon: They're keeping their games but not Impulse. Paradox games started appearing elsewhere once they separated from Gamersgate. Some even use Steamworks now.
I don't know. Isn't Gamestop an actual retailer? Who else is more likely to want to stick to the current format?

Funny when you realise Mike and Jerry both love twitter. Mike is a confirmed lurker though.
I'm kind of upset by it, but at the same time I see a great opportunity to rival steam.

Oh they often mock that which they love. It's their thing. I think they secretly lurk on their forums too, even though they say they don't.

Yeah, I actually bookmarked PAXlines or whatever last PAX, I have to say, if I'd ever gotten up from gorging myself on pen and paper and video games it might have been really useful:)

Internationally speaking, Gamestop is like the brick and mortar equivalent of Impulse. If you check their site, i have lots of times, they only sell in the USA, they dont sell internationally either. Whether this will change now that they have impulse is yet to be seen, but somehow i doubt it will change.
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Wow. Oh wow. I didn't like Impulse, but I really didn't wish THIS upon them.

I can't help but feel sorry for you Impulse users. You're gonna get screwed. Hard.

They will get to experience how Impulse have treated Europeans. Think of this as a learning experience ;)

We'll be laughing at them in one or two years when Gamestop shuts it down because they didn't make money off of it.

Well there's a bit of a difference between the hazards of international mail and digital distribution. The only reason there are so many UK online retailers that ship internationally is because they're operating out of territories that don't have anything like the taxes and other associated costs involved when it comes to shipping.

That said, there's no reason to expect an improvement. That much is true enough. For me though it's enough that Stardock is no longer lording it over Impulse.
Awesome! Brad Wardell himself is now talking to me on twitter. He is claiming Stardock have one price for their games converted to local currency. I hit him with the Elemental LE €74.99 price tag. Can't wait for the reply.

Was that 74.99 a digital or physical copy and did it include the international shipping? In other words what was the price before shipping?

That was digital on Impulse.
