Here's a pretty cool FPS to look forward to. Wrack is, from what I gathered, a cel-shaded FPS that's closer to arcade old-school. Interestingly enough, I found this page only because I was doing some research on Bobby Prince. It looks really quite cool, and not at all unpleasant to behold. You can check out a Quakecon 2010 interview over here:

(oh yeah, they're working with BOBBY C. FREAKING PRINCE!)
(PS: also, the developers are huge fans of Doom, if that counts for anything)
(finally <3 the movement speed)
(PPS. cool, just realized the lead dev is Carnevil, creator of Skulltag)

-edit- Oops forgot to post the link to the website

The interview also contains ingame footage, including 2 boss fights, so check it out.

Shameless bump to inform that I've updated the first post multiple times, and you can also listen to one of Bob's compositions for the game. Apparently he's also in charge of the sound effects.

That looks awesome.
Shame, not much love for this?
I like the idea, but it looks pretty bad in that video.
I would like it if you updated the thread from time to time so I wouldn't have to follow the development myself, because I really can't be bothered :P
It reminds me of XIII...and that is great. :D

Well, the first video you posted was half an hour long. I didn't have time to watch that at the time, so I just forgot about it. The first 20 seconds looked awesome though.
That looks interesting. As long as the pricing is decent that is.

Here are the various parts with the gameplay:

That's all I think. I don't think I missed out on any parts, but if I did... :3

Sound effects video.. Again, made by Bobby Prince.

I'd like to post a first impressions video from Total Biscuit that gives a good look at the game for anyone interested. I am excited for this game, as this weekend sale is leaving me pining for some new FPS releases where you can move really fucking fast:

Seems up my alley; might pre-order :o
Looks cool, wish more shooters had interesting looking environments like that.
You can preorder Wrack on Gamersgate now: http://www.gamersgate.com/DD-WRACK/wrack

Also, vote for it on the Wishlist: http://www.gog.com/en/wishlist/games/wrack

Update: likely it won't be on GOG anytime soon. Too bad. Here's why:

It looks good. The only problem, I think, is the length at the moment. You can get the alpha now, which is five levels, with other four levels when they are done. which is 9 levels in total.

And then it is apparently two more episodes planned as DLC.... so you get only the third of the game, more or less.

It will at least not be on here before this is sorted out. Is this a new way of saying "This game will be episodic?"

Edit: The only reason I did not pre-order it on Desura is just because I do not know how much of the game I will get in the end.

amok: It looks good.
Personally, I think that it looks awful. ;)

I can't understand the fascination with "cel-shaded" graphics. To me, "cel-shaded" always sounds like a fancy term for cheap, unimaginative graphics. The thick black outlines make it look like a cheap comic book. Imho. ;)

The gameplay might still be fun, of course.
