Druidshinobi: DARN, i haven't played wow in months but there goes my notion of being able to transfer my Hordes gold to my alliance characters, which would have resulted in me probably renewing for a month, Bah!
If they're on the same account, you can't do that anyway. You can't bid on an auction started by any character from your own account (unless they changed that recently - as in during the last six months or so). And you can't send mails between the factions.

Yeah thats why i thought i could make a new account with WoW going free and all, then go to Booty Bay put an item on the Cross Faction AH for 10k gold or whatever with my level 1 alliance, then buy it on my mains account and there would be all my money transfered to alliance but alas you can't use auction houses on free accounts.

i might go into tourist mode and just create avatar to see the world without actually playing the game (as it always seemed to be extremely boring)

That's pretty much what I've done since launch :-)
Say no to cyber crack

Level 20?? In WoW??? That takes ...a couple of hours?? It's even faster now that the new expansion has come out. I remember when I made a new character when the Lich King came out. I think I was level 20 in about 4 hours or so. It's not that difficult especially with some of the quest and map mods that help you coordinate your quests in a more efficient manner.
OMG he bumped up his thread!

He bastard!
Not being able to invite players to parties pretty much assures I won't even give the trial a shot. Not that I was much inclined anyway. I found WOW pretty damn boring when I played a trial account for a few weeks years ago.
If Blizzard is up to such shenanigans then it only means one thing, WoW is finally dying.

The end of an era is nigh people.

I don't play games like this where one can play all day every day and be rewarded for it. I hate games like Travian where you're encouraged to just sit there and watch as your 4 hour attack goes on, in case somebody counter attacks.

There's something inherently evil about games that use AP or similar and then drip them out little by little all day and night.

Not quite.

They're trying to keep up with the trending industry, without actually going free to play.

The current trend of the MMO market is free to play, micro-transaction driven games. This really helps gamers in the tough economy be able to keep playing the game they love, without shelling out a set amount of money every month. This -also- helps the gamers who have money and are willing to spend money to be the best, because they can plop down however mucht hey want for Micro-Transaction currency, and buy the best Wifferdingle in the game.

WoW however doesn't want to go that way, but also is trying to find a way to.. seem to be 'keeping with the trend'. What they are doing is, as I expressed earlier, a Never-Ending Trial, which at the very core seems to be the same as offering F2P, but is actually worlds apart.

GameRager: The free game come with the expansions?
Profession changes and such from expacs are usually available even if you don't buy the expac, you just can't access new areas or keep leveling up.

But WOW is not really worth the time investment, there's better MMOs with which to fritter away your mortal coil.

keeveek: - A maximum of 10 gold.
So is 1 gold really valuable in WoW?
Or are free players supposed to be poor?
And yet I still wont touch it.
Well why not. It'll be interesting to see what I can do on my Mac with it.

May I use one of your keys there?
