It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

-Client is open source.
-You don't need it to play your games.
-Great auto-patch system.
-Most of the games are DRM-Free.
-Mod management.
-Linux and Mac support.

Have you ever heard it? I stumbled to it today and will buy from there.

Yep, I tried them thanks to HumbleBundle. I like lots of things in their system, but it makes me wonder why their social system is so underpopulated. :) Also they deliver quite a number of cool free games, so you might want to check those out too. ;) I still wish they had a DD system, though.
Yes, I use it mainly for alfa-funding(3079, project zomboid, Survivors of Ragnarok) + have some games from Indie Royale or HB. Also it has some cool mods and freegames.

What does DD stands for? Direct download?

Yeah, I really like it, especially since they started letting you download either an installer or a zip file from the website as an alternative to the client.

SirPrimalform: DD system?
Direct download.

It's what's keeping it from being my main source of indie games - the fact that you can't simply create an installer from the games you download. Other than that, it is, next to GOG, the best digital dist. site out there.

Direct Download? As in "you can download this using your browser"? :) That is what I like so much about GOG and also Humble Bundle. :)

Same here, but as SirPrimalform said, apparantly they're working on making the client completely optional by also adding standalone installers. Once they make it official and I'm guaranteed to get standalone installers for every game, I'll probably start using it, too.

I spoke to a staff member in the forum, and they said that basically now whenever a new game is added or an existing game gets an update, the developer is required to supply a standalone installer or zip file.
Games that haven't been updated may not have them yet, but apparently you just need to ask.

Wow! Thanks this really DOES make a difference for me. :) Thanks for heads-up, did not notice that before.

With your knowledge base actually increasing.

I see a correlation here. :D
I've known of Desura quite some time, but I only started using it once the indie bundles started. The client is solid and fast, but I find it rather unintuitive. I basically use it for every game that I don't have on Steam.

Edit: Just in case it wasn't common knowledge, Desura is also behind the Indie Royale bundles.

It seems to be a recent thing and yeah, it makes a difference to me as well. I had lots of games on desura because of the keys that came with indie bundles but I didn't buy anything there until recently (after they started offering direct downloads).

Are there any plugins that change the UI of the client? I can find skins that change the color, but haven't been able to find anything that changes the layout. That's my biggest issue with the client.
